    • Who wore it best

On our recent trip to London, we decided to bring one of our franchise episodes across the pond and focus on a few of our favorite Brits. In this edition of "Who Wore it Best," we spotted three sets of stars all in leather pieces: pants, dress, and jacket. We're weighing in on who got the look right and where to get a budget-friendly version of the victor's ensemble.

      Gemma Arterton vs. Victoria Beckham

Both Hollywood celebrities and the high fashion elite are crazy for French designer Isabel Marant right now. Sexy Brit Gemma Arterton (she was Jake Gyllenhaal's princess in "Prince of Persia") and a pregnant Posh wore the same pair of cropped leather pants by Marant. Gemma styled hers with a navy Balmain military jacket, but the pants seemed big for her. Posh's choice of a slouchy sweater and spiked-heels created the perfect combo of classic and edgy.

      Marion Cotillard vs. Daisy Lowe

It's not easy to wear a ruffled leather dress but both Oscar winner Marion Cotillard

    • How to detox like the stars

Co-host of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards and famous detoxer, Anne Hathaway. (Barry King/FilmMagic)Co-host of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards and famous detoxer, Anne Hathaway. (Barry King/FilmMagic)

Stars are prepping for awards season's biggest night -the Oscars- by following strict detox regimens to whittle their bodies into red carpet shape and to face the flashbulbs with a healthy glow. (That whirring sound you hear? All of the juicers and blenders in Hollywood working overtime.) The most popular programs require different degrees of deprivation. Anne Hathaway loves trainer David Kirsch's 48-hour detox, for example, which consists of a lemon-flavored drink four times a day. Gwyneth Paltrow recently touted a 21-day cleanse on her lifestyle website, Goop, that sounds practically gluttonous in comparison. Daily menus include smoothies and salads but also meals like "detox teriyaki chicken."

BUT if we want to look our best for an event in a healthy way, are any of these star-studded plans a viable option? We turned to nutrition specialist, Jeffrey Morrison MD, author of the forthcoming "Cleanse Your Body, Clear Your Mind" for the answer.

Why do we need a cleanse to

    • The Old Spice Guy reveals how to make your man more macho

When Isaiah Mustafa auditioned to play the Old Spice Guy, he had no idea that the commercial would become the online sensation that it is- the original has more than 29 million views. But something about his deadpan delivery, the seamless special effects and his impressive former-football-player physique has made the character a hit. We caught up with Isaiah in New York City to talk about how the latest commercial, "Scent Vacation," was made and to get his style secrets. For a guy who became famous wearing a towel, we were impressed to learn that his favorite designer is Vivienne Westwood.

And while we had his attention, we asked Isaiah what every man must have to be as macho as the Old Spice Guy in real life.

      1. Some Old Spice (obviously). The Fiji scent is his personal favorite because it smells like "palm trees, sunshine and freedom."

      2. A pair of Converse All-Stars. These will never go out of style

      3. Brown Boots. The slip-on ankle kind always look great with

    • Get Heidi Klum's “Lucky” cover look

Let's be honest, Heidi Klum could make a paper bag look amazing but we were particularly taken with the styling of the gorgeous Alberta Ferretti dress she wore on the March cover of Lucky magazine. See how we created an affordable version of her sexy, modern look for a Thread viewer.

The color of Heidi's dress makes us feel excited for spring. In fact, we reported that the bright, bold honeysuckle shade-also known as fuschia or poppy -would be the hit of 2011. We love the way her accessories give the flirty, flutter-sleeved sheath a rocker edge and how her natural-looking makeup puts the emphasis on her eyes.

In keeping with the mission of The Thread, we set about creating a budget-friendly version of Heidi's outfit for one of our viewers. Krisztina looks fantastic in a dress by Jessica Simpson ($128). We were particularly proud of the accessories we found: a black and gold resin cuff from BCBG ($28), a jeweled bird ring from Rachel Rachel Roy ($24), a daintier ring from

    • Can you guess whose hair this is?

Some stars have a signature wardrobe, but some have signature hair. They're known for a specific cut or for their enviable color or for their hair always looking lush and shiny no matter what style they choose. To reveal the stars we think have the signature hair of the moment, we thought we'd play a game. See if you can guess all five without seeing their face- just their well-known locks.

1: This singer-actor-dancer started out as a brunette but now has long, honey-colored locks that she wears with a lot of volume.

2: This first-time-mom's signature is her hair color: strawberry blonde. She loves soft waves parted in the middle but loose buns have been a go-to choice of late.

3: Her thick tousled locks have been the talk of beauty blogs this awards season. She looks just as elegant in an updo as she does in cascading curls.

4: Signature hair means recognizable hair, but it's not always a good thing. Both critics and fans urged this reality star to get a new look.

    • Hairstyle hits and misses at the Grammys

We always get excited about the Grammys because our stars tend to get a little more unconventional and experimental with their fashion and their hair. At least we hope they do. A few of our favorite girls were missing tonight (Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift) but there were some definite divas making us proud. Middle-parted, super long locks were a popular statement as were deliberately exaggerated coifs a la Gaga. At the same time, a few overly stiff styles and wild and wooly updos made us cringe. Check out our round up of the evening's hits and misses.

    • Get Carrie Underwood's Star Style

There are many things we love about Carrie Underwood's red carpet style. She likes to experiment with fashion, but whether she's going for Hollywood glam with big bold waves and dramatic eyes or opting for something more playful and girly, Carrie always looks appropriate for the occasion. Today we're giving a Carrie-inspired look to a Thread viewer who loves the five-time Grammy winner's wardrobe as much as her music.

Carrie is one of those celebrities who always seems to glow. Her blonde locks have a healthy sheen and her dewy skin looks hydrated and radiant. So, we weren't surprised when she was named Olay's new celebrity ambassador.

Taryn, our Thread viewer, asked if we could help her emulate Carrie's style and glow so she could wow her friends at an upcoming wedding. Since healthy, radiant skin is the foundation to any Carrie look, we used Olay Daily Facials Hydrating Cleansing cloths to exfoliate and remove any dirt and oil on Taryn's skin. We gave her a light powder

    • A Grammy-themed girls night out

One of our Facebook fans had a brilliant idea: A girls' night out where everyone's styled like their favorite Grammy-nominated artist. So we drove to New Jersey- in the middle of a snow storm!- with celebrity hairstylist Robin Watson-Hamilton and an overflowing wardrobe trunk to create head-to-toe looks inspired by Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Hillary Scott.

When we arrived, friends Kacie, Teresa, and Alyssa, showed us the specific looks they wanted. They all were different from their typical night-out ensembles.

We focused on hair first. Kacie usually wears her long hair naturally curly but she wanted to try one of Beyonce's sleek, straight styles. Our hair and makeup stylist, Robin Watson-Hamilton, stressed the importance of starting with a good foundation to maximize shine and suggested Kacie use Herbal Essences' Touchably Smooth shampoo and conditioner. Robin towel-dried Kacie's hair and then used a round brush to straighten it. For the sleek effect, she ran a flat iron

    • Do you need a style miracle? We gave one to a lucky Thread viewer.

It happens: We get in a hairstyling rut. We pull on the same jeans and tops because they're easy. We wear a lot of ponytails- and we're not talking about the fashionable kind. Pretty soon it's time for a full-fledged style intervention. In this episode we surprised a working mom in NYC, giving her a new look and some quick and easy hair advice from Aussie's celebrity hairstylist, Sarah Potempa. Thread viewers, you never know who may be knocking on your door.

Dana's a working mom with an adorable 3-year-old daughter, a demanding job, and not a lot of time to pamper herself. Her co-worker nominated her for a Thread "style miracle," so, like the fashion and beauty genies we are, one Friday morning we showed up at Dana's doorstep!

Hairstylist Sarah Potempa works with celebs like the Olsens, Lea Michele and Emmy Rossum, and she had some great tricks to show Dana how to add volume to her gorgeous but fine chestnut brown hair.

Sarah's first step was to towel-dry Dana's hair.

    • Walk like a model

It's Fashion Week in New York, which means all over town models are strapping on the highest heels they can find, perfecting their fiercest walks, and heading to casting calls. Some of them are getting last-minute pointers from master model coach, Mac Folkes, who's been teaching girls how to conquer the runway-hips forward, shoulders back, a truckload of attitude- for years. We caught up with Mac at the UGG Australia ModelLounge in Manhattan and got some pointers on how we can all work it.

Yes, technically it's just walking in a straight line but a model's job is harder than it looks. If you've ever seen a fashion show or watched footage on YouTube you may have noticed that sometimes the girls seem to float and glide along the catwalk and sometimes they seem to be stomping like a collection of Clydesdales. As Mac explained, models don't have just one walk. Really it's more like four because different types of designers and different clothes call for different attitudes.
