Isn’t it always the case that when it comes to hair, we all want what we don’t have. Brunettes want to be blondes, girls with pin-straight tresses wish they had corkscrew curls, and my curly-haired friends spend more time with a flat iron than they care to admit. What about learning how to maximize the look of your natural texture? In this episode, Herbal Essences celebrity stylist Charles Baker Strahan shows Thread viewer Kate how to make the most of her gorgeous naturally curly locks with three sexy styles. No straightening involved! 

Half up, half down

Start by adding styling mousse to wet hair, then use a small barrel curling iron to accentuate the curls you already have. Brush out the curls to create high volume. The look is a “controlled frizz,” as Charles says. Use a light mist of hairspray to define the ends. Add more definition by adding styling cream to the root, then use bobby pins to pull back the top on both sides. Voila!

It does not make sense to me that the same friends who consider mascara as essential as a toothbrush are deathly afraid of fake eyelashes. What is there to be afraid of??
