    • Guess, The Iconic Nineties Fashion Brand, Comes Full Circle

What's old is new again! In the midst of this year's Coachella Music Festival--whose line-up featured 90's powerhouses like Blur, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby, Violent Femmes, and Wu-Tang Clan--The Thread hit the party circuit and discovered that Guess jeans are just as desirable today as they were thirty years ago. Thread host Rachel Perry sat down with actress and '90s alterna-girl icon, Chloe Sevigny, to chat about her first Coachella and what the Guess logo means to her. "90210" star Jessica Lowndes and "Pretty Little Liars" Ashley Benson and Troian Bellisariolso professed their love for the clothing brand. The stars discussed Dannielynn Birkhead, the six-year-old daughter of the late (and infamous) Guess model Anna Nicole Smith, and how she's following in her mother's modeling footsteps. Birkhead recently starred in a campaign for the brand's children's line. From controversial children's modeling to short shorts and beyond, The Thread unearthed loads of helpful and intriguing info

    • A Class Act: Emmy Rossum Talks Music, Old Hollywood Glam, And "Closet Time"

26-year-old born and bred New Yorker Emmy Rossum is a breath of fresh air—besides being young, talented, and famous, she is graceful, poised, and (shocking in Hollywood) totally has her head on straight. This year Rossum dropped her second studio album, “Sentimental Journey,” and has a starring role on Showtime's hit series “Shameless.” No complaints from this starlet, who loves every minute of her busy schedule. “The Thread” snagged a few minutes with Rossum to talk music, her love for old Hollywood glam, and some behind-the-scenes shenanigans from the “Shameless” set. Plus, she shares her biggest red carpet style regret: a too-heavy Ralph Lauren beaded gown that she wore to the 2005 Met Gala. • Fashion and Beauty Tips to Get Festival Ready

From SXSW to ULTRA, The Thread has brought you all the big fashion moments at this year's music festival circuit. Now with Coachella in full swing, we've got you covered again--from clothing and accessories to makeup and skincare, we've teamed up with Thread viewer and music industry insider, Alex, to tackle multitasking festival style.

Outfits - Our wardrobe stylist, Ariel Rivera, showed Alex some festival-chic options. Together, the two found the perfect looks for work and play. For daytime, Alex and Ariel chose an airy, pastel, sleeveless dress that’s ideal for the hot weather of Indio, CA. They paired it with comfy ankle boots (bonus: they protect those precious tootsies from getting stepped on by concert-goers!) and a structured jacket for any evening temperature drops. For work, they picked a structured shorts suit in an easy and lightweight linen blend--equal parts business and play.

Accessories – Here’s where the outfit gets pulled together, but—surprise, surprise—this time it’s Read More »from Fashion and Beauty Tips to Get Festival Ready

    • NERVO Shares Their Favorite Festival Beauty Trends

Stylish siblings (and COVERGIRLs!) Mim and Liv of the songwriting and DJ duo, NERVO, spend a lot of time in the club, so they never pass up a chance to shine with bright colors and fun beauty options. We caught up with the tow-headed beauties in Miami at ULTRA Music Festival--the world's premiere electronic music festival. Proving that they are girls after our own hearts, Mim and Liv are self-professed fashion junkies who never shy away from dancing the night away. But while the Miami-based event may be the "candy store" of electronic music, we always have an eye out for young men and women taking fashion risks at any festival. We got the gorgeous Aussies to straight-talk us on all their favorite festival-ready beauty trends.

We've seen bright lips all over the music festival circuit, and like us, Mim and Liv are big fans of saturated pouts. In addition to loving a good shock of lip color, the DJs told The Thread that they're big fans of well-manicured nails and nail art--not Read More »from NERVO Shares Their Favorite Festival Beauty Trends
    • The 5 Hottest Dress Trends For Spring

Itching to strip off your wool sweaters and slip into the latest spring dresses? Uhh, yeah! Us too, and we’ve got your back! Thread host and supermodel Jessica Stam is showing off five stylish on-trend dress trends. Watch and see if you can guess which option is under $30!

The harness dress - Soft, unstructured dresses get shape and edge from the addition of leather (real or faux) harness details. To make this runway-popular look work for you in real life, opt for a dress and belt in similar hues and pair with strappy sandals.

Evening stripes - Forget boat necks and cotton tanks, the new stripe has a distinctively more sophisticated air in satins and silk. Try a mod shift with minimal jewelry and pointy heels for an outfit that's ready for a night out.

M-slit dresses - Forget the "Angelina" leg! M-shaped, thigh-high slits are so in. We love maxi dresses with dramatic slits, but be sure to balance all that below-the-belt sass with some coverage up top. Our suggestion: a scarf or moto Read More »from The 5 Hottest Dress Trends For Spring
    • TOKiMONSTA: Short Fashion Attention-Span, Not Short on Style

Amidst the sea of raging fashionistas we spied on in Austin during SXSW, one musician stands out for her adventurous style and flawless beauty looks. We caught up with the uber-stylish electronic DJ TOKiMONSTA, aka Jennifer Lee, before her show to chat about her new album (dropping in April), which star's closet she'd most like to raid, and her ever-changing hair color. We can't decide which we’re more in love with: her blend of live performance and turntable skills or her sick accessorizing game.

    • Stars Sparkle and Shine on The Kids' Choice Awards Orange Carpet

The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards are not known for their tame fashions or understated beauty looks--and while this year the styles were understated, the colors were not! The Thread host Tanika Ray was on the orange carpet finding all the stars rocking bright colors and outfits that were bedazzled, bejeweled, and, yes, even some bespectacled ones. From Gabby Douglas to Bella Thorne, we've got the looks that took it up a notch. But the star that stole the show for us--and many of the celebs we spoke with--was none other than shock-pop singer, Ke$ha in her risk-taking look.

    • Street Style Rundown at ULTRA Music Festival

This Miami-based annual electronic music festival attracts some seriously stylish gals. As always, The Thread was on the ground finding the hottest trends and fashions--from festival standards like shorts and headbands and beyond, the style at ULTRA has a whole bunch of personality.

Statement shorts - We're not talking about your standard Daisy Dukes--we saw girls rocking ones that were dip-dyed, studded, patterned and every style in between.

Ornate headbands - What festival look is complete without some hair accessories? We saw attendees in floral versions, headscarves, and even some chain accent head jewelry.

      Patriotic gear
      - What cuter way to show off your love of the home of the free than with tops, shorts, and vests? These girls look good enough to make you start chanting, "USA! USA!"

Funky sneakers - Comfort is king at any music event, but just because these kicks are casual, doesn't mean they're drab. We spied metallic sneaks, patterned versions, and yes, even studs.
