If there's anything singer and COVERGIRL P!nk is known for, it's her ability to have fun with her style. Always switching it up with bold, edgy, and fierce elements on the red carpet and beyond, we're in love with this girl's fashion sense. We brought P!nk's makeup artist Kathy Jeung in to the studio to show us how to get the star's signature look.
How to get: P!nk's "The Truth About Love" cover album look - Jeung says the overall feel for the "The Truth About Love" shoot was all about P!nk's porcelain skin, lush lashes, and a bold, wine-stained lip with a combination Film Noir and punk rock elements. To achieve this, Jeung starts with the eyes with a lighter-than-your-skin-tone powder shadow all over the lid and up to the brow bone. She recommends using an eye pencil in black to create a thick line along the upper lash, then a liquid liner closer to the base of the lashes to define and intensify. All awards season long, The Thread has been on the red carpet to bring you the newest and most stylish trends--from nails to gowns and just about everything in between. Now we're obsessing on the hairstyles that shined. Celebrity hairstylist Michiko Boorberg teaches us how to do two of our favorite 'dos: Old Hollywood-inspired waves and braided crowns.
For soft, romantic waves with a deep side part, begin by parting hair on the side with a tail comb for a clean line. When the curl is removed from the iron, roll the curl back and pin it with a duck-billed hair clip until the section cools. Repeat this process until all of your hair has been curled and pinned. Finally, remove pins and brush out the curls with a flat-bristled brush. For volume and 24-hour hold, finish with a shaping hair spray.
