    • Let Your Mission Guide You

People tell me all the time how inspired they are by my mission statement. For those of you who don't remember my mission statement, or who perhaps have never heard it before, it is this: "Torchbearer for a vision of a world transformed, illuminating freedom, fulfillment, and passion, igniting the flame of infinite possibility for the human spirit."

I have to admit, I love it too. It gets me up in the mornings, gets my blood pumping, and has me keep taking on new things.

I wrote that back in 1994 when I was in the Introduction Leaders Program at Landmark Education Corporation. That was perhaps one of the most challenging, yet inspiring transformational programs I've ever taken, and it gave me to fertile ground in which I could plant the seeds of my mission.

It led me to take on designing my life according to my calling, my values, and my most inspiring life principles. This resulted in my resigning from my then full-time job as the director of one of the few mental

Maggie AndersonMaggie AndersonWho isn't ready to capture a big client? Here's how to use summer's slow time to get ready for the big one this fall!

Step one is to get out of the economic doldrums. If your small business or consultancy has been staying just above water you are not alone, but only you can change that. Don't let discouragement keep you in the shadows waiting for business to get better -- start thinking bigger, energize your brand, make some bold moves toward being more visible, so your ideal prospects can find you. That may mean networking at some high profile events where your target market hangs out. Or it might mean stepping back to better define your niche, your marketing strategy, or trying some new tactics. One coach who was looking for monied clients is offering free workshops at Whole Foods. Another used a previous international experience to arrange a presentation at an International Trade Center. With some out-of-the-box thinking you can discover marketing resources you have not yet

audra fordinaudra fordinFew things are more American than the road trip. Kids in the back arguing about who crossed the imaginary line and Mom and Dad in front threatening to turn this car around if you kids can't behave. If you've taken a family vacation or ever traveled with kids, chances are you've been on a road trip. Audra Fordin, a fourth-generation auto mechanic in Flushing, New York, offers these tips for making it a better road trip and saving money on gas in the process.

1.The long and winding road that leads to your destination is more relaxing and less stressful than the crowded highway. Map it out before you go. If you have the time, take the long way home and look at how beautiful America is. This is priceless.

      2. Your trip is not going to be a good one if you spend it in a small town with an unknown mechanic who is also the local telephone operator. Make sure your car is ready for the trip. Have it checked before you head out on the road. This will save you both time and money.

http://www.jackiewoodside.comhttp://www.jackiewoodside.comFour Simple -But Not Easy- Steps to Mastering Productivity

People are quickly getting back into the swing of things as the summer fades into sweet, yet soon distant memories. Days are growing shorter, school is back in session, and the pace of life seems to pick up like a fast-flowing river.

Before you know it, you'll get swept up in the no-time, washed-down cultural stream called "crazy busy." Crazy busy has an energy all its own - a buzz and pull that everyone seems to feel - especially at this time of year. Busyness in our culture has reached epidemic proportions and I believe it is costing us dearly.

One of the chief causes of stress in our society results from people not doing what is important to them or what they value. Too often people feel as though they are simply running a rat race on a hamster wheel. They run and run, but they never feel like they accomplish anything. They are crazy busy, but not productive.

The characteristics of being busy can be

    • How to Choose a Plus Size Swimsuit

As a Plus Size woman, Paula Guthrie could not find the clothing styles she wanted to wear and she didn't want to sacrifice quality for size. After searching and searching for a decent swimsuit in Dallas, she stumbled upon a Plus Size boutique in Hawaii where she found and purchased two Delta Burke swimsuits that fit her perfectly. Guthrie was so inspired by the experience that she decided to leave Corporate America and open Bodacious Boutique, a non-chain boutique for New Plus Sizes 14W-28W.

As we are in the midst of the swimsuit season, Guthrie offers Plus Size shoppers the following tips:

      1. The swimsuit SHOULD be the same size as the size you wear in your daily clothes, to control sag.

      2. If you like print suits, try to keep the print on top with a solid bottom, or a small polka dot works as an all over print.

      3. Try the Tummy Control suits like Miraclesuit. (Lose 10lbs in 10 seconds is what the tag says) Suits with skirts or shorts cover a multitude of sins.

    • Another Reality - the Gulf of Mexico is Dying

Personal and planetary challenges transform into enduring peace, harmony and prosperity, when a critical mass of individuals choose it to be so.

Electrical Power flows and appliances work when appliances are plugged into the Source of Power. Unplugged or partially plugged in appliances are powerless and do not work.

When individuals plug into the Source of 'unconditional Love', which is Light - the only Power in the Cosmos, what we require to restore harmony and order on a personal and planetary level will find us. Light is referred to spiritually as Consciousness, God, unconditional Love or other Name, and best described scientifically as fundamental electromagnetic quantum energy or quantum hologram. Light, which entangles all creation, is All There Is.

    • When Life is Crashing Around You

My husband Allen and I were in trouble and we knew it, but nothing seemed to be working. We'd hit a lot of financial hurdles in the past few years, but this one brought it's own truck load of stress and it felt like we were about to be buried under it.

We'd had our house on the market three different times over the past four years, with no success, and this time around nothing appeared to have changed. We weren't sure we could hold on much longer as our business was struggling in an economy that had flattened. Housing sales were beginning to strengthen, but ours hadn't attracted much attention, even with the major renovations to the house and the fact that it sat on thirty acres of beautiful horse country and boasted a year round trout stream.

I was nearing desperation and made the commitment to pray until I sensed a break-through in my spirit. Allen and I also decided to give a generous break-throughoffering that we couldn't afford, following the scriptural principal of

    • StepFamily Struggle: Why Can’t My New Partner Love My Child?

I don't understand how she cannot love Isabel (8). I know she's acting out a lot of anger about the divorce, but she's so loving and adorable!

It is said that nobody can truly love a child like a child's own parents. We were the ones who saw how precious they were as infants, and who they needed and depended upon growing up. We were the ones feeling pride at each and every milestone, as if our kids were the only children learning to turn over, crawl and walk. And we fell in love completely the first moment we heard the wordsmama anddada. This love we have for our children is often so powerful that we cannot imagine how a new spouse, who professes to love us so much, does not feel the same way.

While a new spouse will never have the same connection to a child as the natural parent, it is possible to develop a loving relationship. To do that, it is first important to really understand the biological bond that exists with our own children. It is powerful, and often very

    • Work Transition: Identify What is Blocking Your Results

      GailMGailM

Making a career transition, whether it's to find a new job, assume new responsibilities or start a business, is stressful. If the stress is positive, it can increase your chances for success. If it's negative, however, it can undermine your efforts when you most need to project confidence and achieve results.

Hiring managers, for instance, often can detect anxiety and desperation during job interviews. Executives who can't handle change-related stress won't be effective in the current corporate workplace because jobs today involve constant change.

Managers who want to quit to start new businesses also must guard against negative stress, says Deborah Knox, a career consultant who coaches self-employed professionals. "If my clients aren't confident and centered about their new business needs, the banks won't give them the start-up money," she says.

Unwelcome work transitions are particularly challenging. Although stress is the body's physical reaction to pressure from,

Approaching business owners about partnership can be a bit intimidating and a little overwhelming. Here are a few tips to get your partnership strategy under way.
