    • I'm Glad I Didn't Wear Orange!!!!!!

      I have a friend who hosts a local TV show and has been trying to persuade me to appear on her show and discuss my writings. I have turned her down many times in the past but then I decided that if I could encourage even just one amateur writer to start submitting their work, than it would be worth it! So I went on and had a good time talking about writing and the Yahoo network. But, later, when I watched the tape, I was mortified at how heavy I looked. My face looked so puffy and round, I looked like a pumpkin. My chin and neck skin was much looser than I had ever imagined. My aunt and a cousin had looked forward to watching me that morning but their Direct TV was out and they were not able to see me. This outage turned out to be a blessing. I felt that the fewer people who saw me, the better I could keep my secret that I really need to loose some weight.

    • Time Zones

      Christmas is over for another year and already I think how quickly it will be here again next year. If things work out as I have planned, I will be in Maine. My retirement dream has always been to have a cabin in the woods, surrounded by flaky, frosty snow and tall pine trees. I will sit in front of a large, brick fireplace with one or two husky dogs at my side while the icy wind howls outside my frosted windows. I wonder what your dream was for retiring. Somehow, we never discussed the future. Was it because we were always so happy to have just one day?

      That last morning you left me in Tokyo, did you know? Did you know it was our last moment? I thought it might be, but I didn't want to accept it. What I wouldn't give to have that last night back. If we had known, would we have held each other tighter? Would I have begged you to stay?
