Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how long you've been writing?

A: I'm a writer/filmmaker living in Los Angeles. I have been a writer since I was a little boy.

Q: Can you please tell us about your book and why you wrote it?

A: My book is a story of a teenage boys obsession with his childhood friend and his descent into madness.

Q: What were some of the biggest challenges you faced writing it?

A: Out of the entire process, writing it is the easiest part. Once others get involved, that is hard.

ABOUT BRUCE MEISTERMAN

As a photographer, Bruce Meisterman has worked in areas as diverse as fine art and commercial photography, always looking to meld the two. Originally studying to be a painter, Bruce found that he could express himself and his art more effectively with a camera. Starting out as a photo-journalist with a newspaper, he honed his eye, insight, skills, and story-telling abilities from working with the demands of daily deadlines.

The book Arn? Narn. was initially conceived as an examination of a western culture, isolated from the world. Isolated not so much as to having no contact with the outside world, but as to being a destination rather than a place along one's way. In researching the then-untitled book, Meisterman determined Newfoundland would be the perfect place in which to do this study.

ABOUT HELGA STIPA MADLAND

HELGA STIPA MADLAND was born in Upper Silesia, now a part of southwest Poland, in 1939. In 1945, she was a refugee along with her Mother and Sister; Dad, a forester, had been drafted. They left their home village together with her aunt, Tante Hilde, whose husband, Onkel Joseph, was able to help because he was a police detective and had not been drafted, and their three children, Rita, Lothar and Sigrid. Lothar is two days younger than Helga, and the cousins regarded this to be a cause for constant conflict. Later, in West Germany, two more cousins were born, Guenther and Reinhart, a large group of cousins.

In 1954, by way of Canada, the author, her parents Hubert and Ann, sister Ingrid, and brother Michael (born much later in West Germany) moved to the United States. Helga graduated from Helias High School in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1957.

C.V. Rosasco is an author and psychotherapist living and working in a weird town called Hollywood. He has worked as a stage and soap opera actor, a childrens' social worker in South Central L.A., an addiction specialist with gay addicts, and a janitor. He is a beach volleyball player, just took up Jiu-Jitsu, has had two nervous breakdowns ( 3 if you're really counting), and is an avid meditator / yogi.

After leaving the corporate world, Kate was determined to master writing and riding, pastimes that often led to confusion in the telling. Her studies of creative writing proved to be more successful than her horseback adventures which included a broken leg! However, her love of horses remains.

Kate also took the opportunity to be more fully involved with her son's life - too involved, he would say. She enjoyed watching scores of soccer games and cheering his team on to a divisional state championship. All grown up now, her son lives in Eastern Europe and teaches English as a second language.
