      Is Literary Fiction Dead?

      By Khanh Ha

Well, what is literary fiction? A slippery term sometimes identified with 'highbrow' and 'pretentious', it is usually connected with critically acclaimed, award winning fiction. 'It's those serious-minded novels,' said Robert McCrum, 'of high artistic intent by writers with a passionate commitment to the moral purpose of fiction.' Sounds lofty?

You, as a writer, must have often asked yourself that question. Readers, those who don't write, don't usually ask such question. Serious readers might

    • Interview with Anna O'Moss, Author of "Behind God's Back: Secrets, Shadows, and Sex"

What is your favorite quality about yourself?
Intuition, I have learned to trust my feelings, and it has allowed me to read my daughter's emotions, and that is a gift. I am able to keep her and my relationship on the same path.

What is your least favorite quality about yourself?
Impatience, I get information quickly, like a download, and I like to get things done immediately. Not everyone is on my timetable unfortunately.

What is your favorite quote, by whom, and why?
"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture the heart." This Indian proverb caught my eye on Facebook, and I resonated with it immediately. I strive to be in my heart center, and not get caught up in all the dramas in the world that have many agendas.

What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life?
      That's simple - being a mom!

How long have you been writing?
I was not a skilled writer, so I didn't really think of myself becoming a writer as a profession

      About Robert Nelson

      Robert NelsonRobert Nelson

Robert Nelson was born and raised in Garner, North Carolina where he earned the connections and street credibility needed to bring a sense of authenticity to his work. Consequentially, this lead to his stay in the luxurious NC-DOC where through a lot of retrospection he developed a strategy to defeat what he had become. Through the guidance of the Aryan Brotherhood and the variety of other hardened criminals he played cards with he focused his energy into developing his skills as a writer to keep the youth from making the same mistakes he did. If he can open just one pair of eyes through his writing, everything he's put into these pages would have paid off.

What is your favorite quality about yourself?

My ferocious yet over-active imagination and my willingness to broach boundaries in my work that readers hadn't even considered broachable.
