You swear by your Spanx for weddings, hot dates, heck even the beach...but would you wear 'em when your expecting?
The recent launch of Assets Marvelous Mama at Target--a lower-priced line of maternity shapewear, the little sister to "Mama Spanx," which have been around since 2004--is causing quite a stir in the blogosphere. The ladies at Jezebel took offense with the product, saying, "Spanx-the company that has made a mint selling body-slimming garments-is now targeting pregnant women with its Mama Spanx maternity line. Because you're never allowed to have a gut that big, even if there is a fetus in it." But over at TODAYShow.com, they dug a bit deeper into the situation and discovered that the range of products has no compression fabric in the belly area, only around the hips, butt, and thighs, and that plenty of pregnant women swear by their Spanx. They had an editor try out the Power Mama Spanx to surprisingly pleasant results, and company

We know, we know: You've been hearing that the "towering torture chambers" otherwise known as killer stilettos have been on their way out for a while now. But for all of you mid-heel and flat skeptics, today brings some serious proof that more sensible shoes will be big news in 2011.
Buyers from some of the nation's most important department stores are investing heavily in no-nonsense shoes, according to today's WWD. With hemlines dropping all over the runways, flat shoes seem to be the smart option of the season. "It really speaks to the boho spirit we saw on the runways," Ken Downing, fashion director of Neiman Marcus, told the paper. Liz Rodbell, executive VP of merchandising at Lord & Taylor, says we'll also see an "emergence of lower heels, such as the single-soled pointed-toe pump," and that the platform shoe will continue to offer "the best of both worlds." Over at ritzy department store Lane Crawford, Sarah Rutson says, "Flat shoes - fromA Smart (Affordable!) Dressing Tip For Busty Girls

If you struggle with dressing your busty figure, we've got a great style solution that's perfect for the chillier months--and can cost as little as five bucks!
My adorable friend Tara has always been on the more buxom side, but now that she's four months pregnant with her first child, she's having an even harder time finding ways to keep her ever-expanding chest in check (especially when she's headed somewhere with a conservative atmosphere, like the baby shower of another friend we attended this weekend, and doesn't want to be showing too much cleavage).
Her smart solution? An oversize scarf! "It makes me feel more covered up and comfortable wherever I go," she told me. "I just hide everything underneath one!" It even has the added bonus of keeping her cozy during the January freeze. She scored this one for just $10 at Old Navy ("I've been living in them!" she says), and has a rotating set that she throws on over cardigans and leggings to be anDress Sexy Tips to Steal From Kim Kardashian

Reader Katie, AKA "Cardigan Girl" writes to us,
"On my first date with my now-boyfriend, he surprised me with a giant belt buckle from Texas. It was part of an inside joke that we had while we were flirting (he frequently travels there for business) and I thought it was hilarious. Flash forward three and a half months: I am flying to Texas for Martin Luther King weekend to visit him while he is there for business. I want to wear the belt buckle for my flight out and our first dinner in the Longhorn State, but am not sure how to pull it off. Western attire is definitely not my standard cardigan and camisole style, but I am willing to give it a shot because I know he'll get a big kick out of it. Ideas??"
First of all...how cute! And second of all, there is definitely an easy and chic way to wear this thing and still look fabulous. In the spirit of Texas, I suggest you grab the bull by the horns (sorry!) and go all-American.

If you've got loads and loads (or even one or two!) of printed dresses hanging in your closet but are tired of just wearing 'em as is, today's post is for you. See how I spotted one of our fashion editors, Jillian, wearing hers today, and tell us what you think!I know that most of you aren't fans of the socks with sandals look, however, Jillian looks adorable and pulls it off so well (and frankly, I totally dig the hosiery trend!) that I had to share her outfit. I love that she switched it up and went sans tights, but added the faux fur vest to keep her look weather appropriate (and I love even more that she wore it over a print as opposed to your standard solid). And for those of you that live in areas way too cold for bare legs, swap out the socks for gray wooly tights.
(Obsessed with Jill's look? Shop it here for less.)

Here's good news for girls who are mindful of their piggy banks: This season's must-have style item can be yours for as little as a buck!
Celebrities have been sporting plain white T-shirts from the sidewalks to the red carpet lately, and we're loving the clean, simple look --and the fact that it's accessible to just about every woman on the planet!
Kate Bosworth proved that simplicity can be chic when she wore this Jil Sander number to the Hollywood Style Awards recently. She looks totally unfussy and yet completely glam.
One of our favorite style stars, Michelle Obama, was spotted leaving her Hawaiian vacation earlier this week in a sassy bright pink and purple leopard skirt with a jeweled belt. How do you keep all of that pattern and volume from looking overdone? Add a plain white T on top, naturally!
And then we have star of the TV series Fairly Legal, Sarah Shahi, hitting the red carpet at an Us Weekly Hot Hollywood event in a prettyBlake Lively Is Officially The New Face Of Chanel's Mademoiselle Handbag Line

When rumors first surfaced about a month ago that Blake Lively would be the new face of Chanel handbags, we were practically giddy. Now that it has been deemed official fact by Karl Lagerfeld himself, we can't wait to see what fabulous Chanel frocks the starlet will hit the red carpet wearing in 2011...
A story in today's WWD confirms that the Gossip Girl star will, in fact, front a new campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle handbags, which you'll soon see in April fashion magazines. "'She's a kind of American dream girl,' said Lagerfeld, lauding Lively's spontaneous nature, freshness and what he described as natural star quality. 'I think she will become a great actress.' And Lagerfeld noted Lively is very aptly named. 'She's full of life,' the designer said."
As for Lively, she described the experience of being photographed by the famed designer like this: "How did Cinderella feel when she slipped on the glass slipper? How did Snow White feel when
