Susan shared a bit of this news with you gals last week--that a former star of MTV's The City is getting her own clothing line!--but today we've got even more scoop on Olivia Palermo's next fashion adventure...
We confess, we've been obsessed with Olivia's style since her first appearance on MTV, when her wardrobe kiiiiiinda stole some of the spotlight away from Whitney's whiplash-inducing love life. Then we heard that she was getting a reality show of her very own--a while back, she told Elle, "I'm currently working on a TV project, my own show"--and we were sort of psyched to see how her awesome beeotch-iness (our favorite line of all time from The City: "This is your first pair of Manolos?! I got mine when I was like, 17!") and covetable wardrobe would combine for a half hour of pure guilty pleasure. Now Racked has the full scoop, via the current issue of Vogue Spain: "She discloses that her own reality show will follow her every move as

Full disclosure: I don't think any part of me actually believed I'd give up chocolate in 2007, but even so, just before 12/31/06, I told all my friends I'd swear off the sweet stuff--which meant we had good reason to ring in the New Year with Ben and Jerry. (Six days later, I broke down over an Andes Mint.) I'm traditionally full of outlandish, outrageously difficult to execute resolutions, so this year, I first and foremost resolve to set my sights on something doable, by focusing on one area of my life: my style...So, without further ado, here are my style resolutions (totally steal-able, if you want!)
Invest In An Unboring Flat
As you guys know, my leopard print flats pretty much carried me through 2010. So it'd be sort of silly of me not to scoop up another pair of interesting flats (work and party appropriate, naturally) for 2011. And yes, my feet will thank me!Related: The 10 Best Fashion Trends of the Past Decade

We Manhattanites may have Barneys, Bergorf Goodman, a gajillion H&Ms, some of the world's best vintage shops and the original Saks Fifth Avenue, but apparently we're still miles behind Houston, TX, which Forbes just named the best shopping city in the United States.
The magazine's first-ever rating of the best U.S. cities for shopping pretty much snubs New York City entirely--it winds up at #22 on a list of 25!--and instead focuses "the urban centers with the best combination of options, ease and affordability."
So how did Houston end up at the top of the list (with Dallas and San Antonio also inching into the top 10)? They have more square footage of retail than any other state, which means more opportunities to find what you need at the right price (when they say "everything's bigger in Texas," that includes malls!). Surprise contenders like Baltimore, Jacksonville, Columbus, and Phoenix also managed to edge out Los Angeles, Chicago, and NYC5 Beauty Lessons We Learned This Year From Anne Hathaway

As we wind down the year, it's time to take a look back at some of our favorite stars here on the beauty blog and see what we they taught us all in the hair and makeup department. First up: The lovely Anne Hathaway, who was everywhere in 2010. Here's the beauty stuff we can all learn from her:
Lesson 1: Rosy pink lipstick is a friendly, bright, fabulous pick. A nice way to mix things up in the lip department.
Lesson 2: Even if your eyes are huge already, there's always room to make 'em look bigger. Makeup artist Kate Lee used a trick at the premiere of Love & Other Drugs to make her peepers look extra gorgeous (hint: It involves liquid liner and a very specific motion.)
Lesson 3: Just because you think of yourself as a "classic" type doesn't mean you can't go for the occasional funky updo, like the swirly hairstyle she wore to a gala at the Natural History Museum.
Lesson 4: Brushing your eyebrows is the key to perfection. Always.
And lesson 5:Trend Alert: Winter White Dresses On The Red Carpet

Forget that old rule about not wearing white after Labor Day--we're less than 10 days from Christmas and celebrities have been sporting the pristine hue all over the red carpet. In the past week alone, we've seen...

Next time you're feeling bummed out about your office's no-open-toe-shoes policy, remind yourself that things could be a lot worse: Your company could regulate everything from how much perfume you wear to the color of your skivvies (really!)...
A new set of guidelines just released by the Swiss bank UBS is a whopping 43 pages, according to the Wall Street Journal, and gives Dos and Don'ts that seem pretty preposterous to your average fashion blogger. Aside from the obvious "no short skirts" type of thing, the rules dictate the following:- Women should not wear new shoes
- Employee underwear should be skin-toned and "always made of superior quality textiles."
- Women may wear no more than seven jewels, men no more than three
- Men are encouraged to wear watches, since they suggest "reliability and great care for punctuality."
- Suits have to be charcoal grey, black, or dark blue, and dress coats must always be buttoned when employees

When Natalie Portman recently signed on to be the face of the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, the illustrious French fashion house bent over backwards to make sure the serious vegan would be comfortable in her shoes there--literally!
The actress has been a vocal vegan for many years, and even designed a line of vegan shoes for the now-shuttered shoe label Te Casan a few years ago, because she had so much trouble finding stilettos that were animal-friendly. But these days, the Black Swan star has it a bit better. In an interview with WWD, Portman said that John Galliano's team had made special Dior shoes for her, so she could still wear the brand without sacrificing her preference to be cruelty-free: "One of the things that's been so nice is that Dior made all of the shoes for me with no animals and no leather or anything, because I don't wear any leather. They remade all my shoes so I can wear Dior shoes without taking lives."

If you were one of the gajillion girls who were left disappointed when you went searching for Kate Middleton's last very public dress--that now-famous blue Issa number she wore when the royal engagement was announced--but found it sadly sold out everywhere, then we've got great news!
The white ruffled dress that Kate wore for the couple's official engagement photos, which were shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, will soon be reissued by Reiss, the UK company who made it. According to The Cut, the dress was originally part of the fall 2009 collection, which means it's no longer in stores, so the brand is smartly putting it out again as part of its spring 2011 offerings. The "Nanette" dress will hit stores in January 2011.
Reiss, which is kind of like Zara-meets-Gucci--a brilliant blend of mid-priced basics and serious glamour factor--has a few stores in the US (click here to find out if there's one near you!) and e-commerce thatBest Dressed At The 2010 Hollywood Style Awards: Vote Now!
