If you thought the six-carat, $1.2 million pink diamond Ben Affleck gave Jennifer Lopez back in 2005 was big bling, you ain't seen nothing yet.
The world record for the most expensive jewel ever sold at auction has just been broken, according to today's WWD, and this thing is serious, dolls. The 24.78-carat rare pink diamond was sold at Sotheby's Geneva for a whopping $46.1 million to diamond dealer Laurence Graff. "It is the most fabulous diamond I've seen," he said.
"Four bidders competed for the gem, which had a presale estimated value of $27 million to $38 million," WWD reports, but the price eventually skyrocketed to $46.1 million. Get a load of this thing, ladies!
Would you wear it, or is it a little flashy for your tastes? Can you imagine having that much money on your finger? Would you be afraid to go out in public with it on? Discuss!

Here at Slaves To Fashion, we pride ourselves in bringing you outfit ideas straight from the real girls that wear them, but since the world is abuzz with Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding announcement, we're interrupting our usual coverage to focus on this real girl-turned-royal who just happens to have a love of coats and a few style tips worth stealing.
In the photo to the right, she perfectly pairs black and navy for a casual afternoon. In my opinion, who cares what she's got on underneath, because with the hat and scarf, this coat is an outfit in itself!
And to the left, her coat is the statement again, this time as part of a more formal look. I'm not sure any of you would be down for wearing a hat like this, so if you want to recreate it without that, opt for a cute headband. Are you catching Kate Middleton fever like the rest of us? Shop coats and accessories we think she'd approve of here:

There may not be official, Harvard-approved data that Kate Middleton's fashion choices will translate into big bucks for designers, like there is for Michelle Obama, but the princess-to-be is already well on her way to becoming a serious trendsetter.
Kate and Prince William made their official engagement announcement yesterday afternoon at Clarence House, and she chose a silk jersey dress by Issa for the occasion (in a gorgeous shade of blue that matched the 18-carat sapphire ring that once belonged to Princess Diana!). And according to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, the dress sold out on Matches Fashion within minutes!
The $500 frock is still available in a couple of places, but we're guessing it won't last long. Check out our version of the look for less in the Glamour closet.

The fashion world has been abuzz over Google's new fashion venture, Boutiques.com, for days now. The site is finally live, and among its many cool features, it lets you shop for items your favorite celebs are lusting after.
They've compiled a pretty respectable A-list of contributors, from Carey Mulligan to Claire Danes to the Olsen twins. And there are some serious fashion freaks on the list, too, like Ginnifer Goodwin (one of our red carpet favorites!) and Emma Roberts. But the celebrity boutique drawing the most attention so far is...drum roll...Olivia Palermo! At the time of publishing, the former star of The City had 148 followers to Nicole Richie's 75 and Kelly Osbourne's 44. She may not have as boldface a name, but it looks like hordes of girls are dying to copycat her style.
We've always been keen on Olivia's sophisticated look--we predicted she'd be the breakout style star of her MTV reality show from season one!--but who knew she had soLong Skirts--At Every Price!--That Will Go With Everything In Your Closet

It looks like Annalynne McCord has Annie Hall in her Netflix queue! She's been taking inspiration from Diane Keaton's title character lately with a menswear-inspired look all over the red carpet...
The 90210 star hit the red carpet at a charity fashion show in a leather jacket, slouchy trousers, and a skinny green tie a couple of weeks ago. She kept things girly by adding bright pink lipstick, which the Girls In The Beauty Department called "the best date night makeup look ever."
A few days later, she posed at a film screening wearing a loosely knotted plaid tie with a fitted white shirt. The sexy popped collar helps offset the uber-guy vibe here--and so do those hot red stilettos!
And just last week, she made yet another red carpet appearance--this time at the People's Choice Awards press conference--in a short sleeve shirt with skinny pants and a short blue tie.

When Rosemary asked, "What do you wear to bed?" a couple of months back over at Smitten, the answers ran the gamut from "Nothing!" to "Shorts and a tank top," to "A hoodie sweatshirt and thermals." But according to experts, more and more young women are opting for good old fashioned pajamas.
According to yesterday's Mirror UK, PJ sales are on the rise, especially with women under 35. "Nearly half of women and more than one in three men now say they wear pajamas at night...compared with fewer than three in ten people a decade ago." A group of market analysts found that sales have grown steadily by nine percent over the past five years, and it's now a $765 million industry.
So what's the reason for the sudden interest in looking more like Hugh Hefner? "Experts say the popularity of evenings in and the rise in numbers working from home has created a demand for a 'third wardrobe' of lounging outfits on top of people's normal work and leisureGoogle Gets Into The Fashion Game With Boutiques.com

The word Google has become as synonymous with search as Kleenex has with tissues, but they're hoping you'll soon consider them the masters of a whole 'nother arena: Fashion! The online giant is about to launch a new website and dot com designer boutiques on Wednesday, and the tech-savvy style hounds are already getting excited.
According to today's WWD, "The new site, dubbed - for now - Boutiques.com, is part of a bigger trend toward new retail formats that the Internet and social media have made possible." Users will be allowed to plug in their style preferences (brands, items, and looks) and create a personalized shop that shows them stuff they'll love. They've already got some serious star wattage behind them in the form of Sarah Jessica Parker, who's been tapped to create a boutique of her own, and sources say Katie Holmes will soon follow.

Remember talk show host Sally Jessy Raphael's famous oversize red glasses? She recently shared the story of how she got them with Oprah Winfrey, and I couldn't help but crack up...
I won't embarrass my beautiful older sister by sharing a photo of them, but she wore an identical pair to Sally Jessy's scarlet frames in the 80s, and they're still a source of many good laughs in my family. "What the heck were you thinking?!" we often ask our mother, along with queries about our so-short-we-were-mistaken-for-boys haircuts and Polly Flinders floral dresses. But poor Jamie's glasses take the cake for Worst Indignity Ever Inflicted By A Lomrantz Parent, and now that I know the backstory behind the talk show host's specs, I'm feeling even more sympathetic.
On Wednesday afternoon's show, Oprah invited some of her favorite talk show hosts--including Phil Donahue, Geraldo Rivera, Ricki Lake, and Montel Williams--to dish about their days on-air and share some
