Getty ImagesIf Monday night's fashion prom CFDA Awards has anything to say about it, cutouts are going strong for the season. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was wearing the trend--from the models to the designers to the power ladies of the industry. Are cutouts the norm these days? Would you wear them? Before you decide, check out the photographic evidence from the cutout-palooza.
BAM. Model of the moment Karlie Kloss wore a deep-V, shoulder-cutout double-textured gown and was flanked by the designers Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie of Cushnie et Ochs. The model-esque designing duo may be the best billboards for their work, no?
I bow down to Bergdorf Goodman senior vice president Linda Fargo for rockin' a Michael Kors cutout gown like it's nobody's business. The fearless industry tastemaker hits the perfect mix of sultry and elegant. Well, of course, she would.

When it comes to swimwear, it's all about finding the perfect suit for your body type. I'm in the market for a new bikini (I've ruled out a one-piece since my long torso makes them unbearably uncomfortable), so in the quest to find the ideal two-piece I decided to ask four ladies who know bikinis better than anyone: Victoria's Secret Angels.
Yes, this was a very humbling experience, talking to women who wear lingerie for a living (and look perfect in it). But they've seen it all and have to look swimsuit-ready at all times. It can't be easy. Anyway, they all agreed on the exact same bikini to try and promised it would be just right for me. It's the Victoria's Secret Triangle Top and Double-String Bottom. "I like a small butt on the bikini," said Lily Aldridge. "I think it's more flattering. I know women are scared of it, but it's honestly more flattering."

Plus-size dressing is about to get a lot more fashionable, thanks to two fashion design students from Cornell. While creating a line of clothing for curvy girls, they couldn't find a proper dress form to design against, so they created one themselves. They decided on a size-24 mannequin prototype after analyzing hundreds of three-dimensional body scans of women.

"A lot of the clothes [for plus-size women] are really just sized up from smaller proportions, which fit really strangely," said student Laura Zwanziger. "Plus-size women feel alienated from the fashion industry."
Plus-size dressing has been a hot topic during the past few weeks, and I've shared a few of the biggest headlines with you, including H&M's cool new line of swimsuits, and on the flip side of things, Abercrombie & Fitch's decision to stand by its policy of not making clothing that is bigger than a size large for women.

Getty Images My least favorite fashion phrase of all time is "wardrobe malfunction," and there are a few reasons for this. First of all, I think it's terribly overused (can't we think of something more creative?). Also, as someone who's never suffered one, I simply don't understand how celebrities continue to fall prey to these sartorial mishaps on the red carpet. Are they getting ready in the dark? Is there an underwear shortage I'm not aware of?

This is on my mind, since Eva Longoria suffered a fashion faux pas on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday. She was holding the bottom of her long, pale green dress to save it from rain puddles, but then she raised the dress too high and photographers caught her without underwear.
The next night, Eva tweeted: "Here's my dress for tonight! No wardrobe malfunctions tonight!!!" She is obviously a great sport about the whole thing, but couldn't this haveCheck Out What Jennifer Lawrence Wore to the Hunger Games: Catching Fire Events

Getty ImagesThe glitz and glamour continued over the weekend at Cannes, ladies, so let's check in on what one of my favorite red carpet fixtures wore. Jennifer Lawrence touched down in Cannes for the first of what I'm sure will be many The Hunger Games: Catching Fire events.

Lawrence attended a photo call for the film in, you guessed it, Dior. A black strapless bustier top with flattened ruffle detail, skinny trousers, and coral pumps made for an appropriate casual but put-together look.

For a party for the movie, the actress changed into another Dior dress, this time a white strapless number from the fall 2013 collection. It featured a draped, printed detail at the waist. Pink pumps finished the outfit.
What do you think of Jennifer's outfits? Are you excited to see more promo-tour getups from the star?

WWD/Steve Eichner Do you remember when Lindsay Lohan had a leggings line? No? I didn't know about it either, but it turns out that not only did she have a leggings business, but now the manufacturer has issued a lawsuit against the troubled star, claiming that her reputation is making it too difficult to sell the 6126 clothing line to buyers.

The manufacturer, DNAM, filed a $5 million breach-of-contract against Lindsay in a California U.S. District Court. In a document obtained by E! News, DNAM claims it had some success with the leggings line but had to pull back "because they did not want to be associated with Lohan's drug-addled image." As you all know by now, Lindsay has been in and out of rehab several times during the past few years.

Meanwhile, Lindsay's business partner, Kristi Kaylor, said it was DNAM that went back on their agreement. "The DNAM countersuit against 6126 isAmanda Bynes is Designing a Clothing Line. Seriously, This is Happening

WWD/Steve EichnerDuring the past year or so, the tabloids have been dominated by one crazy story after the next about Amanda Bynes which is a shame since the former child star and comedianne is super talented. Maybe she'll channel some of the creativity she used in her old performances into the new clothing line she's working on. Yep, you read that correctly: Amanda is at work on a fashion line!

I'm also a huge fan of Elizabeth and James but I have to say, that brand (designed by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) which is known for its beautifully tailored blazers, dresses and skirts is as far as you can get from Justin Bieber's style. WWD/Steve EichnerGivenchy designer Riccardo Tisci was not only co-chair of the Met Gala, but he also dressed 13 women attending the event, including Beyonce, Madonna, Rooney Mara, Florence Welch, and Kim Kardashian. Kim's dress was intriguing, since it had matching gloves that were attached.
When I posted my best-dressed roundup, you said the skintight floral dress wasn't your favorite, but it turns out Tisci loved his maternity fashion moment.
"I have dressed many pregnant women in the past," he told WWD. "People can say what they want. To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers. I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career."
