    • Making Spring Pieces Work In Less-Than-Springy Temps

      By Kelly Framel, Glamour magazine

Just because it doesn't yet feel like spring doesn't mean I'm not ready to work a little of the coming season into my closet! These pink suede L.A.M.B. shoes and silvery silk Primary dress were definitely intended for warmer temps, but I'm making them work right now with a crazy-warm cardi and super-thick stockings.

What's your favorite trick for making warm-weather-wear work when it's still chilly outside?

    • 3 Cool New Ways To Wear The Lace Trend Now

      By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

If you think lace--a spring trend we've seen everywhere from Dolce & Gabbana to Zac Posen--has to mean frilly and sweet, think again. We've got three cool new ways to try out this trend without feeling like you're celebrating your first communion all over again.

      #1: Experiment with bold color.

Defy expectations when you wear lace by avoiding the neutral route; white lace has automatic bridal connotations, black screams sex appeal, and nude's been overdone. Instead, take a cue from Penelope Cruz--seen here in a plum number by L'Wren Scott--and embrace lace in a hot hue. Anchor the look with black accessories (or accents, like a black T-shirt with a blue lace skirt) to keep things from getting too wild.

      #2: Add menswear-inspired pieces.

Lace with leather? Been there, done that. With florals and animal prints? Sorta snoozy. The freshest way to wear lace now is to mix it up with menswear--a tailored blazer with a lacy cami underneath, a pair of tweed

    • On A Diet? Steer Clear Of Wearing Red!

      By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

If you're watching your waistline, here's what not to wear: Red!

Leslie Harrington, executive director of The Color Association, tells eBay's Inside Source that the color red can cause a spike in your appetite: "Red makes you hungry but it's understanding the 'why' behind the phenomenon. It has to do with the way it affects your brain.

Red releases endorphins into your system that stimulate the appetite." Medical research supports the theory--red catches your attention, increases your heart rate, and causes excitement, which in turn makes the receptors in your brain believe they're hungry. So if you're trying to ward off candy cravings, a red dress may not be the way to go! Experts say blue or other dark colors are better for suppressing your appetite.

PLUS...find out why wearing red may help you land a date...AND...the Dos and Don'ts of wearing red!

    • Want To Know Where Kate Moss Gets Her Clothes Tailored? Her Fiance Dishes

      By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

She's a fashion icon by any measure--Vogue even called her the best dressed woman of the decade--so who wouldn't want some help looking a little more like Kate Moss? Her fiance, Jamie Hince, recently shared the name of her tailor with the world, meaning we can all be one step closer to achieving wardrobe nirvana.

After Hince had a very expensive suit made for him on Savile Row (AKA the London home of some of the world's best suits--remember when I saw Orlando Bloom's and Jude Law's being custom-made there?), Moss tipped him off to a more affordable way to do it: "There's an amazing tailor in Thailand and I get them copied," he says, according to the Express UK. "The guy's called Mike the Tailor - he's a genius! Kate found him. She had six pairs of shorts, two suits and a waistcoat made."

Getting expensive clothes reproduced by a genius tailor from Thailand is nothing new--for years, my father has been heading to the Waldorf Astoria every summer

    • How to Wear White Before Memorial Day

      By Greta Eagan, Glamour magazine

What are rules for if not to be broken? Fashion breaks all the rules, and that one about not wearing white until after Memorial Day is seriously out of date. So, how do you wear white before summer (or spring) is officially here?

I opted for an edgy pair of distressed jeans that are a heavy enough fabric to wear during the transitional month of March, but still brighten up my outfit. I actually got so many compliments on these jeans! I think we are all ready for some spring/summer colors, and to put away the blacks, grays and browns of winter.

I also wore a lightweight jacket from Nicole Bridger. She has an amazing attention to detail and when you put her pieces on you know you are wearing a designer label. As an eco-designer, she is conscious about her production and fabric sourcing, too, using all natural and renewable fabrics.

How are you wearing white before spring weather is really in full swing?

    • Rachel Zoe Dresses You in the Long Trend

Inspired by the long lengths you're seeing everywhere, including in the pages of our April 2011 issue? Hollywood's most famous stylist, Rachel Zoe, has been putting celebrity clients-like Eva Mendes and Jennifer Garner-in floor-grazing stuff for years. Let the expert speak!

      1. Don't Skimp on Accessories
"I love the look with heels, but if you are tall, you can pull off a ballet flat or a flat boot. I would also add bangles and big earrings or cocktail rings."

      2. There's Long-and There's Even Longer
"For evening, your hem should graze the floor, but for daytime and for work, it should hit the tops of your shoes."

      3. Long Lengths Make You Taller!
"I swear by this. I was not genetically blessed with height, but I've always worn long because I think it actually elongates the body. It's a timeless silhouette that looks chic on any body type."

      4. Let Fullness Dictate What's on Top
"For a fuller skirt, I suggest tucking in your blouse and maybe belting it [as Drew Barrymore, here, did].

    • Katy Perry's Mom Really, Really Hates Her Daughter's Wardrobe

      By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

It looks like the Sesame Street crowd isn't alone in finding Katy Perry's cleavage offensive--her own mother is currently shopping around a book about her disapproval of her daughter's lifestyle, and she's taking aim at Katy's famously risqué wardrobe.

Page Six got their hands on a copy of the book proposal, in which the pop star's evangelical preacher mom, Mary Perry Hudson, discusses her distaste of everything from husband Russell Brand to racy song lyrics that are having a negative effect on her Christian ministry. Here's how she evaluates Katy's style, recalling an incident backstage at a concert: "Katy stepped out from behind the changing doors in a tiny risqué costume. No mother wants to see the top of her daughter's boobs . . . My first instinct was to order her back behind those doors and demand she put something else on . . . However, I had no problem letting my eyebrows say what I wouldn't allow my mouth to utter."

      She says her memoir "is

    • Lost A Button? Try This Brilliant Quick Fix!

      By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

We've all been there before: You're headed into an important meeting (or a wedding, job interview, or the first time you're meeting your guy's parents) when a button that's been threatening to loosen itself for days finally decides to pop. What can you do to save yourself from embarrassment, especially if it's in a highly visible spot?

My boyfriend brought home an issue of Men's Health last week and while I read through just about every page (I even got an amazing sea bass recipe!), I was especially excited about a little tip I picked up from their "How to Do Everything Better" guide. Here's how to fix a popped button in a hurry:

      1. Find a twist tie--they recommend snagging one from a loaf of bread, which should be easy enough at a restaurant, hotel, or friend's house--and strip away the paper.

      2. Position the button in the spot it just popped off from
and poke one end of the wire through a thread hole from the underside; guide it through the
