    • What Do Men Really Want to Do After Sex?

sex, food, sleep, sex, food, sleep...
Each week, three of EMandLO.com's guy friends give us their advice on something love-related. This week they answer the following: "What do men want to do after sex? Do you buy the "women want to snuggle, men want to eat/sleep/shower" trope?"
To ask the guys your own question, click here.

Single Bisexual Guy (Jack): I am going to assume that this is for nocturnal sex, given how the question is worded. It is well-established that the male body releases a sleep-inducing hormone following orgasm, so sleep is a natural event, wanted or not. Personally, I've definitely found myself at a diner or a convenience store with my partner post-sex at 3am for food and drink, but I've also at times been happy to snuggle and fall asleep in each other's arms. Some bodies just fit together perfectly for snuggling and sleep, making that very appealing. But it's often dependent on what the partner is in the mood for, and what my feelings are for the person, whether it's a relationship or just a

is an OB/GYN at one of the largest teaching hospitals in New York City and she answers your medical questions every few weeks on EMandLO.com. To ask her your own question, click here. This week, she addresses the recent debates about contraception.

I'm an OB/GYN, and my specialty is family planning. This means that I spend my time counseling patients, teaching students and residents, and conducting research-all about contraception. You can imagine the questions I've been asked in the past few weeks about President Obama's rule about mandatory coverage for birth control with few exceptions. What started as a debate about the rights of religious employers versus the rights of the women (Catholic and non-Catholic alike) who work for them has devolved into something ugly. It feels like in the furor about the Bill of Rights, and "cafeteria Catholics," and insurance mandates, essential information has been overshadowed. So these are my top 5 reasons why it's vitally

    • Do Men like Crazy Positions in Bed?

      crazy yoga position
Advice from three of Em & Lo's guy friends
. This week they answer the following: "Are most guys really into tackling crazy sexual positions (e.g. the wheelbarrow) or are most men completely happy with the standards (e.g. missionary, woman on top, etc)? If it's the former, why?" To ask the guys your own question, click here.

Married Straight Guy (Ben D.): You see this in the movies and that is where it should stay. Call me boring but I like the basic three (in no particular order): missionary, woman on top, and doggy. Of course, if my partner requests something, I'm more than happy to obligee. If the wheelbarrow is the best way for you to orgasm, then I'm all for it. However, speaking from experience, extreme positions are more a novelty that you may start out in, but you finish in one of the basic three.

Single Straight Guy (Scott): I'm all for adventure and trying new things, but I can't say that the best sex I've had was in a crazy, contorted position. I like to change things up

    • My Husband Likes to Watch Me Dance with Male Strippers

      male stripper
      Dear Em & Lo,

Me and my husband of twenty years have been fantasizing about so many things - one of which is me being grinded on by a male stripper in a private room with my husband watching. This was realized about a month ago at a gay bar where we decided to proceed after few drinks. It was a real turn-on for both of us and we had very wild sex after that. Is this wrong? We've talked a lot about our experience whenever we have sex and we're planning to do the same thing again.

Actually, it was my husband who broached the idea that we go to the male strip bar. I readily agreed out of curiosity, because it was my first there. Besides, we had been fantasizing about that for a long time. Well, as I said, me and my husband got horny while the stripper started to grind and flirt with me, and my husband got really turned on seeing me for the first time flirting with a stranger. We really are planning to do it again. It really added spice to our sex life. Please advise us.

    • Wise Guys: Should a Woman Be Worried About Her Boyfriend's Female Friends?

Icon of man and woman holding hands. Based on public domain
Advice from three of EMandLO.com's guy friends. This week they answer the following: "Should a woman be worried if her boyfriend has tons of very close female friends?" To ask the guys your own question, click here.

      Married Straight Guy (Jake
): On the contrary, I think a man with many close female friends shows that he has the empathy, listening skills, sensitivity and charisma that are valuable in a partner. And if he is floating in a sea of women but chooses to be with you, that's a confidence booster if I've ever seen one.

      Single Straight Guy (
Megan): No, not if he has tons of them. Some guys just get along better with women than with other men. I'm in that category. I was raised by a single mother and one older sister. Relating to women is easy for me because I've been surrounded by women all my life. I'm sure I'm not alone in this category. A woman should be worried if her boyfriend has one, very special friend. A solitary friendship like that can slide into an intimate,

    • Your Call: How Can a Relationship Work when the Sex is Compromised?

      no sex
Em & Lo get a lot of advice questions coming in, but sadly, they just can't answer them all. Which is why, once a week, they turn to you to decide how best to advise a reader. This week, they had two very similar inquiries from both a straight woman and a straight man. Make your call by leaving your advice in the comments section below.

My boyfriend has been on antidepressants for almost a year. He can no longer come through vaginal intercourse - only intense BJs or HJs. I am minorly managing to avoid insecurity in this situation (he says he thinks my vagina is too soft - but he reassures me that it's him, not me), but I am definitely suffering from this lack of intimacy. How can I continue to support him, pad my frustration and sense of sadness, and not give him (or myself) a complex? I worry that any input will change the mental part of the situation once the meds are done, so I just kinda do my thing and then we stop. I also worry that all this intense play for ejaculate will mean

    • How Do Men Deal with Bad Breakups?

Advice from three of EMandLO.com's guy friends
. This week they answer the following: "Pop culture is filled with examples of how women deal with breakups. How do most guys deal with really bad breakups?" To ask the guys your own question, click here.

Straight Married Guy (Matt): It really depends on the guy and the breakup, but as a general rule, guys definitely try to go out and hook up as much as possible as quickly as possible. And that's pretty much it. No long talks, no ice cream, no sad movies, we just want to get out there and give our damaged ego a boost as soon as is humanly possible.

Gay Married Guy (Jon Ross): This depends of course entirely on the man, and I think it's impossible to suggest how "most guys" deal with really bad breakups, when every man is different. Some will collect all their stuff and go out with someone new the next night, others will shutter themselves in their homes and weep away the days. It will all depend on the length, intensity and commitment

    • Wise Guys: What Would You Do as a Woman for a Day?

      Wooden Hourglass
Advice from three of EMandLO.com's guy friends
. This week they answer the following: "What would you do if you had one day to be and think like a woman?" To ask the guys your own question, click here.

Straight Married Guy (Ben): The very first thing I'd do is make out with my wife -- so hot when she kisses other women. And really, I hate to be so cliche, but I'm probably like 9 out of 10 guys in that, with just one day as a woman, I'd prolly focus in on the physical experience of being a woman. In other words, lots of sex -- lots of it with my wife and lots of it with whatever guys I could find (don't worry, all okayed by my wife should this ever occur, as long as I play safe, she says). I'd probably have to leave the house at some point for more supplies (food, condoms, men, etc.) and I imagine it'd be at that point that I'd find out all about things like objectification, sexism and just how terrible men are as a class. This, I figure would be completely overwhelming and depressing.

    • 5 Less Obvious Places to Touch Each Other

      Don't forget the collarbone!
EMandLO.com contributor Jewely Hoxie, who is studying Human Sexuality at the University of California Santa Cruz has
      a confession to make:

There are some perks to being a Human Sexuality major - and I'm not just talking about its potential as a pick-up line. Take the time I used my favorite places to be touched during sex as a way of remembering where we have the most nerve endings. Or my discovery - thanks prof! - that the parts of our body with the least amount of hair have the most nerve endings. Some of the nerve-rich areas are pretty obvious - lips, genitals, duh. But then there are body parts - with sparse to no hair - that don't get nearly the amount of attention they deserve. Try these next time you're in bed with someone:

      1. The ear. Try light wisps of warm breath over the ear and maybe some small nibbles at the top during your next make-out session.
      2. The collarbone. It is such a delicate part of the body that someone else's soft kiss there can bring you to

And frankly, this one is a doozie. Make your call by leaving your response in the comments section below or joining the debate already in progress here.
Dear Em & Lo, My stepdaughter just confided in me she had recently lost her virginity with her boyfriend. She's fifteen and doesn't want me to tell her mom. She said that I'm the only one she feels comfortable talking about sex with. I've always taught her to practice safe sex, choose her potential partners carefully, and to be discreet about her personal choices. What do you suggest about her request not to tell mom? I don't want to betray her trust, but I'd also like to avoid the scalding hot water I'll be in if it ever gets out I held onto this piece of info. -- The Secret Sharer What should T.S.S. do?
