Lip color can be gorgeous, but lots of women avoid it because of how it can wear. Without reapplication, it's easy to end up with a ring of color at the edge of your lips and almost none in the center. But it doesn't have to be that way. The culprit? Conventional wisdom about how you're supposed to line lips and apply lipstick. To see the easy way to make your lip color, whether it's gloss or lipstick, look more natural and wear better, just keep reading. Here's the thing: starting from the outside of your lips in, the way you're "supposed" to, actually doesn't work if you're trying to get even, daylong wear. It's one of those pieces of advice that's a lot better backstage than it is on the street. Instead, start from the very center of your lips and brush the color outward.
Don't even worry about getting all the way to the edges. Just rub your lips together well when you're finished, and the color will distribute

Leave it to the lash-obsessed people at Talika to formulate a makeup remover that's supposed to "feed" your fringes. Their new Lash Conditioning cleanser ($24) is an impressive blue gel that handily removes any mascara, even the waterproof variety. The directions suggest you pump cleanser onto a cotton pad and then swipe it across your lashes, but it's actually more effective to soak a square of toilet paper in the stuff and do it that way. You also don't have to rinse afterward, although doing a little clean up around your eyes certainly isn't a bad idea. We can't speak to whether it really makes lashes stronger, but it definitely does make them feel soft and healthy in a way most drying, alcohol-based makeup removers don't.

Models' high, sculpted cheekbones aren't 100 percent genetic. In fact, a lot of that dramatic definition comes from the work of talented makeup artists who have a nuanced understanding of contouring. But you don't have to be a Fashion Week veteran to use a little subtle shading to make the most of your apples. Actually, all you need are two similar blush colors of slightly varying depth. The trick here is to use the lighter blush on top of your cheekbones and the darker blush underneath. Because the shades aren't too different, it creates the illusion of more shadow beneath your cheekbones, and therefore more definition. Just make sure you blend well so it doesn't look streaky.

Candy canes are synonymous with the holidays, and nail art is hotter than ever right now. So what better way to celebrate than to fuse the two together with a candy cane manicure? It takes a bit of patience and a steady hand to create this festive, two-toned look, but once you get the hang of it, you'll have earned your stripes in no time.
Start by applying an opaque white nail polish color (we used Sinful Colors Snow Me White) as a base, using thin, even strokes. After the polish has dried completely, it's time to create stripes using painter's tape.
Cut four skinny pieces of painter's tape for each nail (about 1/16 of an inch wide and one- to one-and-a-half inches long). Next, apply two of the strips close together diagonally at the top of one of your nails. Repeat the same step toward the bottom of the nail, leaving a noticeable "gap" between the sets of stripes.
After all nails have been taped, polish each nail entirely with aKristin Chenoweth on that Amazing Smile, Her Skin Care Secrets, and More

BellaSugar: How do you maintain such a great smile?
Kristin Chenoweth: The key to any smile is how you feel on the inside, and I'm pretty happy. I have my down days, like anybody else, but for the most part I think being happy makes for a great smile.

Have you ever heard that you should match your lip color to your cheek color? While the look does work and most certainly has its place, Kate McCarthy, Glo Minerals' national makeup artist, advises that it's time to break the old-school rule. "If you're looking at fashion shows right now, they're going all out - really bold cheeks, really bold lips, and really bold eyes," she says. "None of it seems to match, but it still looks good."
And when it comes to choosing a lipstick, gloss, or liner, go with this general principle to guide you: base your selection off your natural lip color. "For example, my lips are more on the pink side," McCarthy explains. "They're a stronger pink, so I tend to stay in the pink family and the peach family." But if you have lips that skew more red in color, you're a lucky one, because you can pull off a great red or orange. And for fleshier skin tones, opt for mauves or anything that has aTwilight Perfume or Only Sounds like a Twilight Perfume?

Source: There's a Better Way to Blot Your Lipstick
Blotting your lipstick is pretty straightforward, but did you know that the way you blot can mean lots more reapplications and uneven wear? When most people blot, they take the tissue, put it between their lips, and squeeze. This isn't wrong, but it can contribute to lip color having a shorter lifespan. Plus, the color on the outside edge of lips sticks around longer than the lipstick closer to the center, so you end up with an uneven ring around your mouth instead of a pretty, evenly faded look. So what's the solution?- First of all, don't press hard when you blot. It's just intended to take off excess color, not keep the color from moving altogether. If you're blotting hard because you're afraid the color is going to get everywhere otherwise, use a lip liner, and go over the top of your lipstick with pressed powder to set it.
- To keep your wear more even, avoid putting the tissue between your lips. Instead, just press
