Kids and pets: They're really not so different! Anyone who has raised a pet or a boy will understand what I mean when I say doing either requires a ton of work. I have a son, and my family and I recently got a new puppy, Lola, a 10-week-old boxer. Here are 6 reasons why raising a pet is like raising a child:

BabbleBy now your Facebook and Twitter feed is probably riddled with resolution goodness. It's not that I mind public displays of New Year's resolutions, I just happen to think life changes are highly personal, maybe even a little bit sacred. Then again, I get the whole forced accountability and support that comes from making a resolution public.

That's because, as the mother of a toddler who loves to get her sticky fingers on anything even remotely electronic (including the remote), I have a hard time keeping my gadgets in tip-top shape. Thankfully, I've learned a few indispensable tricks to clean my gadgets after they've spent some quality time in the hands of lil' Miss Annie.
Disclaimer: These tips work for me, but you should always consult your instruction manual before doing anything.
Screens
It doesn't matter if it's my TV, computer, smart phone, or tablet -- if its got a screen, its got Annie's finger prints on it. And, since Annie is a toddler, her fingers are often smudged with chocolate, milk, or honey. Awesome!
If I only have household items at my disposal, I pass over the paper towels and cleaning detergents (which can cause damage), andMy daughter just turned 15 and I am gearing up for the inevitable; my baby will be driving soon. She keeps reminding me that in 6 months she will get her learner's permit and a year from now she will have her driver's license.
