There are few things in life as relaxing as a day at the spa. Whether you prefer a massage, a facial, or a body wrap, the right therapeutic massage treatment is the one that best fits your body's needs and your personal preferences. Last week I had the luxury of going to the spa, courtesy of a gift card I had received for Mother's Day. While there I got to chatting with the staff and asked if they could give me a few of the tips and tricks they offer clients who get spa treatments. There are great school lunch ideas are all over the place this time of year, but it's always boiled down to the fact that I still have to make it every. single. day. I end up making the same thing: sandwich with fruit on the side, sorry kids. But this year, I decided to hand the duty over to the kids and get them excited about making their own lunches. We started by brainstorming our favorite simple lunches, followed by a list of ingredients for our grocery store trip. I took both kids to the store, each with a mini cart, and we walked up and down the aisles in search of our lunch necessities and brought home our loot. Each day I set the kids free in the kitchen to prepare their lunches and get the tools needed. They did everything from slicing bread to washing veggies and clean-up too, with very minimal help from me. They enjoy having more responsibility and mixing up what they eat each day. I like that they have more independence and still eat healthy. Click through for 8 healthyRead More »from Back-to-School Snack Hacks: 8 Healthy Lunches Your Kids Can Make Themselves

PSA theater trailerMiami, Florida, is under siege by disease-carrying giant snails. But don't worry! Labrador Retrievers are being trained to deal with the slimy problem, probably because dogs aren't completely skeeved by the phrase "disease-carrying giant snails."Read More »from Labrador Retrievers to Help Defend Florida Against Giant Snail Invasion
The Giant African Land Snail (Achatina fulica), which grows to be about 8 inches long ("as big as rats," Reuters helpfully points out), is an invasive species first spotted in Florida two years ago. It has no natural enemies and causes severe damage to agriculture and natural habitats, says the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. They also damage buildings by happily munching away on stucco and plaster.
They also pose a health risk to humans, because they carry a parasite called the Rat Lungworm.
I know. This story just gets more and more disgusting.

My husband and I frequently lament the fact that we're not more outdoorsy. We enjoy hiking and camping, but with two little boys who can't yet pull their own weight the great outdoors loses some of its shine. I've hauled our second child up and down enough mountains that my knees start to hurt when I just LOOK at our carrier pack. Good hiking gear, however, really does make a big difference. Knowing I've got a good pair of shoes and a decent sleeping bag waiting for me makes the prospect of keeping my boys out of the campfire for two days a little more palatable. Also, I know it doesn't matter how I look while hiking and camping. But… it matters. So here's 7 stylish (but sturdy!) pieces you can wear while hiking, biking, climbing and whatever else you do to enjoy the great outdoors.

It is important for your pet to keep active both physically and mentally. Brain games and puzzles challenge your pet in new ways, helping to entertain them and to calm them. Mental activity can effectively release built up energy in a positive manner. My corgis love their puzzles and games, and nothing seems to do better at relaxing them than a few rounds of thinking games. There are a number of brain games and puzzle toys on the market. Many are marketed to dogs, but in reality cats like a lot of these games as well. Prices range from nearly free DIY options (two of these are included in the slideshow) to rather pricey Nina Ottosson wood puzzles. In between are many quite affordable options. Below are 10 brain games that I personally use with my dogs. Each is demonstrated by my own corgis, Ty and Eve. Each also includes a difficulty rating of easy, medium, or hard, along with a price rating of affordable, upper end, and expensive.v- By Carleen Coulter

It's that time of year when both high school and college graduates are looking forward to putting constant test prep and exams behind them and moving on to a (hopefully) more exciting phase of their lives.
But in the digital age, not everything is so easily left behind. Ever since they were young, our sons and daughters have been developing an online presence that can define them just as much as high school diplomas and university degrees. Through their contributions to Facebook, chat groups, and other online forums, young adults have created a digital footprint that's often not easy to change or cover up.
As graduates strive to make the transition from the study hall to the workplace, from the dorm room to sharing that first apartment, the last thing they want is an online presence that works against them. However, there are various actions that they can take to make that online presence more appealing. Here are a few suggestions that you might want to pass on:

Over the next few weeks, American college campuses will be filling up with the new classes of freshmen. Kids starting at 4-year colleges this year will be on schedule to graduate as the Class of 2017. I was a college freshman in 1994. That just also just happens to be the year many of this year's freshmen WERE BORN. Oh my scrunchy. I wax nostalgic all the time with people my age, but this freshman class truly has no idea how far things have come within the world of technology and pop culture in the last 18 years. Just the other day I was laughing with some friends over the computer labs we used, and the ridiculously long email addresses we were assigned in college. I didn't want the Class of 2017 to forget about all of the interesting and amazing and weird things that happened during their 1994 and 1995 birth years, so I decided to create a time capsule of information for them. Here are 7 things they should know that will simultaneously make you feel ancient. Enjoy! -By DresdenRead More »from 7 Facts About the Class of 2017 Guaranteed to Make You Feel Old
