My son turns 6 in a few weeks and I can't for the life of me imagine him digging through the internet for this kind of content. He knows apps, and how to watch his favorite movies. That's it. I think.
Bitdefender, a Hungarian antivirus company has surveyed parents on the web habits of their kids and has found that kids will start watching porn online as early as 6.
What? How in the world does that happen?
Do they click on a link in the archive from a parent or do they actually go out and seek this kind of content?
The survey results, published in USA Today, paint a dramatically different picture of children from just two years ago.
According to 2011 results from the same company, 95% of parents confessed their children had used the internet to access pornography. The parents noticed it during homework time. The kids minds would wander and then - woah, whaddya know - look at what they're looking at.

When 8-year-old Olivia Pierce found out that her dog Princeton couldn't enter the Westminster Dog Show, she was disappointed, but unfazed. She simply started her own, mutt-friendly, dog show.

"I just wanted to have other people see dogs the same way that I do, to know that they are all special in some way," the Carthage, Missouri girl told the Joplin News.
With some help from her mom, Keegan Pierce, Olivia launched the Mutt-Minster Dog Show, with proceeds going to the Carthage Humane Society. Olivia's initial goal was to raise $300.
Thanks to competition entries and corporate sponsors, the Mutt-Minster Dog Show ended up raising $1,210 for the local shelter-the largest amount ever donated through a fundraiser not conducted by the organization itself.
"This was the first time someone wanted to just do a benefit on their own for us," Glenda Erwin, director of the Carthage Humane Society,
Ring Ring! The phone rings. It's 6 at night, and, if your house is anything like mine, you're making dinner, packing lunches for the next day, feeding a hungry baby, telling the dog not to bark at the cat, and trying to remember what you signed up to bring for the teacher appreciation lunch. It's not exactly a great time for a phone conversation. So, I don't answer.
You might not, either. But if you do, and you find you're speaking to a professional telemarketer fundraiser, consider hanging up. Or, tell your mother (or grandmother) to hang up and not to send a check the next time a fundraising phone call from a stranger comes to her home phone.
Don't make donations to these companies over the phone.
Nonprofits need donors. Most of them are run by passionate, dedicated people who want to make the world a better place, whether it's providing shelter for families fleeing domestic violence or training midwives in India. Support well-run nonprofits you know and believe in.
