TRY A SCULPTING TREATMENT: Doctors are raving about Exilis, a new no-downtime, noninvasive radio-frequency system that heats tissue using controlled energy to tighten skin and shrink fat cells in the butt, belly, thighs, and flanks. "About 50 percent of patients lose one to two inches after the first treatment," says Robert Weiss, a Maryland dermatologist and former president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

An elite New York preschool is hit with a lawsuit by a mother claiming it hindered her daughter's ivy league chances. Molly Jong-Fast exposes the competitive world of Upper East Side parenting.


I don't usually pay that much attention to e-mails my mother forwards me. But one jumped out recently: A family friend revealed that she was filing a lawsuit against her daughter's Manhattan private school because it would not accept her younger son. That e-mail arrived just after the news broke that another woman was suing a $19,000-a- year Upper East Side preschool for failing to prepare her four-year-old for an IQ test required by private elementary schools for admission, thereby hurting her chances of getting into an Ivy League college. I shouldn't have been shocked, but I was. As an Upper East Side mother myself--of twin three-year-olds and a seven-year-old--I've encountered more than my share of obsessive parents and, on occasion, been guilty of being one.

We've been so focused on Kate Middleton's wedding dress rumors, we almost forgot that she has a honeymoon to dress for, too. The princess-to-be was spotted at British high street chain Warehouse (think: a more subdued Topshop), where she bought a number of pieces for her honeymoon, including a tropical-print dress and a lace-trimmed blouse. It's not a huge surprise that Kate picked out a thrifty trousseau - after all, back in January, she was seen shopping the sales with her mother Carole.

Although the designer of Kate Middleton's gown remains at large, a large detail of the princess-to-be's wedding day style has been revealed - her hair. Middleton will be wearing her long brunette tresses down on her big day (most English royals opt for a conservative updo). Following the couple's visit to Lancashire this past Monday, there was much speculation that Middleton would wear the half-up, half-down style she chose for the event when she walked down the aisle. But her hairdresser Richard Ward has confirmed that Kate's hair will "100 percent be down and flowy." We're impressed with her avant-garde choice and waiting with bated breath to see if her gown will follow suit.
