The Paleo Diet The Paleo Diet, otherwise known as the "Caveman Diet," has been receiving lots of of press lately with its authors touting it as the "world's healthiest diet" on their website.

But is it really the best diet for us?

Let's take a deeper look at what the Paleo Diet is, the benefits it promotes, and whether or not it truly works.

WHAT IS IT?

The Paleo Diet is based on eating what cavemen supposedly ate 10,000 years ago -- a diet rich in plants and wild animals.

The belief is that our bodies are genetically programmed to eat in the same way out Paleolithic ancestors once ate and by doing so, can promote health and decrease the incidence of chronic disease.

According to Victoria Jarzabkowski, RD, LD, the guidelines of the diet are pretty simple.

"Foods that are allowed on a Paleo diet include unlimited amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables (organic is encouraged), meats (preferably grass produced/fed),

Halloween decorations like jack-o-lanterns and candles present problems as well as holiday charm. Inquisitive felines may set themselves afire by poking around these decorations or knock them off of a high perch while leaping about. Dogs' tails are able to quickly clear coffee tables in a flash. Causing a fire in your home could be disastrous and your pet could burn itself, your children or yourself. Try using battery powered "candles." They may not glow as bright, but are a safe alternative.

A 20ish woman was telling me some of her dating woes--and theories. I love the theories most of all.

She had been doing some dating on OKCupid, and had come to the conclusion that the problem with online dating was that "there were too many people on there."

What do you mean too many people? I mean, I could see if you were trying to date in the online stone age when there weren't ENOUGH people doing it and the digital pickins were slim. But that's hardly the issue now. Plenty of folks are on there looking. But saying there are too many people on there is like saying you can't buy a book because there are way too many titles being offered.

Why limit this argument to OKCupid, or Match, or any dating site for that matter? Why not just say there are too many people on the planet to date anyone?

The wonders you can do with Halloween earrings! Serendipitously, my friend was late meeting me for a cup of coffee and I wandered into a nearby thrift store with an eye to what I could upcycle into a craft.

The Halloween collection of items was pretty picked over, but as I meandered down the aisle, a box full of orange, white and black things caught my eye. My first thought was toys, but no... How many plastic Halloween earrings can one person wear? Whoever she was, she loved the night that children dressed as princesses, super heroes, ghosts, bumblebees and lions, for the box I found was full of Halloween earrings priced at $2. I couldn't resist.

I had the ribbon and rhinestones on hand, but most of the other items I used in these projects can be found at a dollar store. I have also seen skeleton earrings at the local drug store.

I embellished a pair of skeleton earrings, and now they are a couple. I used a few of the earrings to make a fun candy tin, and a pair of skull and crossbones
