By Deborah Dunn, LMFT, for GalTime.com

Oh girlfriends, haven't we all been stupid? Sure we have, probably more than once, and especially when it comes to the men in our lives.

But even though we may have kissed a frog or two, we don't have to keep on trading warts with sleazebags and slimeballs, do we? Yet, more and more women seem to be falling for the smooth talk and romantic bait these days, and when they do, getting past our less than pleasant memories can be a tad difficult and demoralizing.

If this applies to you, then here's seven important tips on how to wash off the pond scum and get on with your life for good!

    • MOMS: 3-D Glasses. Love 'Em or Hate 'Em?

      By Jennifer Lubell, GalTime.com

Katherine Chalmers is one mom who would love to see the 3D movie fad fade away. Several months ago, she took her two young children aged 3 and 4 to the movies for the first time to see the popular animated Disney movie "Tangled."

"The show we purchased tickets for was not marked 3D so I was quite taken aback when three tickets cost $48 - for a matinee! - and we were handed glasses as we entered the theater. My 3-year-old daughter would not keep the glasses on and sat through 90 minutes of blurry images despite my frequent reminders to put the glasses back on," Chalmers said.

Her son was able to manage the glasses, but would have been just as happy to watch a traditional movie.

"Every other kid's movie that has come to our theater has been in 3D so we won't be going back to the movies any time soon," Chalmers said.

    • Does Size Really Matter? (Not JUST That)

By GalTime Relationship Expert Jane Greer, Ph.D.

One Size Fits All In Italy when you go to buy a belt, it doesn't matter what your size is because every belt is made so that it can be cut down or expanded to "custom fit" whoever is going to wear it. The Italian makers go by the motto 'one size fits all'. If this can work for what goes "on" our bodies... it stands to reason we can employ the same creative motto for what goes "in" our bodies! When it comes to sex and size there is no end to the beliefs and myths that abound. Misconceptions, unfortunately, can really wreak havoc with people's sex lives and self esteem. So if you and your honey are coming together literally from different angles you want to keep in mind the following: The key to good sex is chemistry, not size or inches! This is true for differences in size above or below the waist! Differences in height and weight make a difference, too, but the fact that your differences have brought you together speaks to your chemistry

    • Earth Day Starts in Your Yard

By Galtime Landscape Designer Wells Rawls

With Earth Day this week, Americans are asking how they can do a better job every day to leave the planet better off for their children and generations to come. Overwhelming doesn't begin to explain how it feels when we try to pick something to do to have a positive impact. So many aspects of the Earth Day fight for a better planet are abstract like climate change, species extinction and population control. It can be easier to deal with if you focus on small things to do in every day life like recycling, buying local food, and driving less. Yet, did you know that every aspect of your landscape maintenance uses petroleum?

Traditional landscape maintenance uses oil in many ways.

      1. Chemical fertilizers use oil and natural gas in their production.
      2. When applied, they flush unnatural, excessive growth onto plants.
      3. Gas and diesel is used in mowers and trimmers to cut back that growth.

      4. Heavy, over pruning cause stress and other

    • Step-by-Step Royal Wedding Guide (Plus a Few Predictions!)

      By Marianne Beach, GalTime.com

The world is buzzing with excitement over next week's royal nuptials of Will and Kate. What will she wear? How will she arrive? Who's on the guest list? We went to an expert, WeddingChannel.com Associate Editor Amy Eisinger, to get some fact...and predictions about how the wedding of the century will go down.

Let's start by having you give us a rundown of the big day. Is it pretty traditional (ceremony, reception to follow, etc) or are there going to be some royal additions to the schedule?

      • The ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey at 11 a.m. on April 29. Kate will travel by car (instead of by carriage, which has been tradition) probably in part due to national security concerns.
      • Guests arrive at the church in order of importance, meaning that the Queen will probably be the last to show up right before the processional begins.
      • The overall service will be conducted by the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall, the Dean of Westminster Abbey.

    • New Twist on 'Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work' Day

      By Kerri Winick, GalTime.com

When I was young, I always looked forward to Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day. Whenever the April "holiday" rolled around, I literally begged my mother to bring me to the office. Her office was a television station, and I craved the fast-paced newsroom, packed with the adrenaline rush of deadlines and breaking stories.

Fast-forward more than 15 years. After working at several TV stations, I'm so thankful to have had the chance to sit among those typewriters (yes, typewriters!) and television sets for so many years. They truly helped me realize what I wanted to do…be a writer!

    • How to Walk in HIGH HEELS

      By GalTimer Laura Allahverdi

Someone recently asked me to comment on how to walk in high heel shoes and how to make it look graceful.

Let me start by saying I always wear high heels! Being short, it's something I started a long time ago!

The most important thing you need to walk in a heel and really own it - are the right shoes! Shoes that force you to put all your weight onto the balls of your feet are obviously going to hurt the balls of your feet.

Here's what to look for in a high heel shoe:

      1. Material is the most important thing! I only buy leather shoes; they stretch with your foot so as not cause deformed and sweaty feet! Plastic or man-made shoes make your feet sweat and they hurt because there is no give in the material. All shoes say "leather upper or man made upper etc," that is the part of the shoe that touches your feet.

    • Are you a "Trainer Girlfriend?"

      By Marianne Beach, GalTime.com

I don't know about you, but back when I was in dating land, I always seemed to choose the fixer-uppers versus the recently renovated type of guys. Those diamonds in the rough always stole my heart and I worked overtime to get them up to par. Of course, once I'd molded them into the perfect man--it was about time for them to go on to the next girl--who would reap the rewards of my upgraded guy without putting in any of the work!

      Related: The Rules of Revenge

There's actually a term for girls like me: The Trainer Girlfriend. The one who takes those slobs, those cheapskates, those antisocial videogamers and turns them into hot prospects--only to have them become the perfect catch for the next girl in line. It can be hard not to be feel a little resentful when you see the effects of your hard work being put to use on someone else. Especially if that "someone else" is walking down the aisle with your project guy a year later, living happily ever after.
