TOP TEN COMPLAINTS ABOUT WOMEN'S DRIVING

      1. Lack of concentration
      2. Braking too late
      3. Flicking the accelerator
      4. Not avoiding rumble strips

YOU ASKED: How do I get rid of my stretch marks?
We turned to leading New York City dermatologist Dr. Lilly-Rose Paraskevas for the answer:

Stretch marks, or striae, are a defect in connective tissue caused by rapid changes in skin tension, usually weight loss or weight gain. They are a lot like scars, devoid of hair and other skin appendages that normal skin has.

There haven't been many studies addressing the treatment of stretch marks, and those that are out there are small and their results may not hold true for everyone.

The topical treatment that has shown most potential to treat stretch marks is a retinol or prescription retinoid cream, as these creams can rejuvenate skin. They are found in over-the-counter anti-wrinkle creams, as well as in acne and anti-wrinkle prescription medications. Unfortunately, since stretch marks are often a relatively deep defect in connective tissue, creams will most likely result in only a modest benefit.

    • Is Your Sex Life Normal?

By GALTime.com Sex Therapist Jane Greer, Ph.D.

One of the questions I get asked a lot as a sex therapist is - How many times a week is it normal to be having sex to have a normal sex life? The most important thing that I tell everyone is that it's personal, meaning that it's about YOUR level of desire and how often you want to be having sex coupled with how often your partner wants to be having sex.

    • 7 Ways YOU Can Increase Your Child's Success in School

By GALTime Parenting Pro Michele Borba, Ed.D.

Academic success impacts our children for the rest of their lives: it influences their self-esteem, college selections, job attainment, financial success, and even their choice of spouses. It's no wonder we go great lengths to give our kids an academic edge. But the good news is that parents can give their kids the edge they need without the help of elite preschools, expensive tutors, or pricey evaluations.

Here are seven surprisingly simple solutions that every parent should have in their toolbox that are proven to boost children's school success (and we often overlook).

      1. Make sure your kids are getting enough ZZZ's. A lack of sleep can have a serious impact on children's abilities to learn and perform at school. Here's proof. So set a bedtime routine and keep to it every single night. Flashing images affect REM, so be sure to turn off the computer and television at least thirty minutes prior to bedtime. Take away the cell phones

    • How Do You Break Up With a Friend?

      By Marianne Mancusi Beach, GALTime.com

After years of experience, I've got breaking up with guys down to a science. (A once useful skill which, now that I'm happily married, I hope I'll never have to use again!) But breaking up with friends? That's a lot tougher to do.

"In a relationship you're expected to choose one partner and if it's not working out, then you move on to the next person," says Piper Weiss, a senior features editor for Yahoo! Shine who has a close-knit but ever-expanding group of female friends.. "With friends, there's no pre-prescribed amount you can have."

And that leaves you in danger, she says, of coming off like a jerk--even if you have a really good reason for wanting to sever ties. "If you're breaking up with a true and special friend, they have to do something so clear-cut and offensive to you that you physically can't be near them. If it's just a clinger, they require

    • STOP The Teen "Toxing" Craze!

By GALTime Parenting Pro, Michele Borba, Ed.D.

Botox is the brand name for botulinum toxin. When injected cosmetically in small, diluted doses, it weakens muscles, causing a "youthful" effect. But data shows for the past few years, teen girls have caught the "I want to look younger" craze as well with more teens begging parents for injections (around $300-500 per treatment).

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (which christened the craze, the "teen toxing trend") reported that almost 4000 more Botox procedures were performed on teens 18 and under in 2009 than in 2008. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has reported a small increase in patients 13 to 19 during the same time frame. Of course, you may have seen the brouhaha last month when 18-year-old Filipino actress Charice Pempengco got botox before her appearance on the hit show GLEE, although there are conflicting reports about why she was injected.

Family vacations, lazy pool days, outdoor barbecues. During the summer, it's easy for parents to be on sunscreen patrol. Now, students who hit the beach are getting ready to hit the books. But that doesn't mean the sunscreen should be shelved!

Data suggests that the majority of sun exposure in a person's life occurs before the age of 18. From school recess to after school play dates, it's important to give your kids a lesson in year-round sun safety. Break out your number two pencil! Here are some tips for preventing sunburn today and sun damage tomorrow.…courtesy of Dr. Kavita Mariwalla, Director of Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt and Beth Israel Medical Centers in New York City.

      1. Buy empty lotion bottles (travel size) and fill them with sunscreen to pack in your child's backpack. That way it is easy to transport and easy for you to monitor their use. Tell your child to apply sunscreen before recess, sports and

    • A Yoga Move to Lift "The Girls"

By Sadie Nardini E-RYT, for GALTime.com

That's right. Yoga, beyond being an incredible lifestyle and balanced-living practice, can also do wonders for our lady parts! Depending on your cup size, you might start to sag with age. However, underlying the breast tissue are layers of muscle.

We're going to target the pectoral muscles, large pads directly under the breasts that will provide you with the biggest difference in the shortest amount of time. These work exactly the same as bra pads, except they keep you looking great even when the bra comes off. And it's free.

The bottom line? Pump up your pecs, and everything else that lies on top of them will elevate too. That means a firmer, more youthful looking chest along with the toned, and detoxed rest of you that a consistent yoga practice can bring.
So, for those of you who want a little lift in the old frontview, forget about all those expensive pushup bras. All you need are some yoga pushups!

Yes, this works for guys, too.

    • Why Protecting Your Teen's Online Reputation Is Critical for SCHOOL

By GALTime College Coach Coach Suzanne Shaffer

      Google never forgets.

If your teen has created a page on any of the social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LiveJournal and YouTube they are communicating with anyone who Googles them without even knowing it. Those online posts may get dredged up by an admissions counselor or Googled by a future employer.

Odds are your teen has already been socially active online. If they have and were not aware of the consequences, it might be time to do some cleanup. Since a teen always values privacy, have a discussion with them about the sites that they frequent. Discuss with them the value of a reputation and the importance of protecting that reputation online. Encourage your teen to do a Google search now and see what the search engine discovers.

Here are some simple guidelines to follow when helping your teen guard their online presence:

      • Monitor their online presence. Since most families have a personal computer
