      Mary KennedyMary Kennedy

dealing with the loss and depression: what happened to mary kennedy?

Loss comes in many different forms - for most people, while it is challenging, it is bearable.

For others, as we saw recently with the suicide of Mary Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy, Jr., loss can be devastating to the point at which one might believe that relief can be found only in death.

It has been widely reported that Mary suffered from depression. With the break-up of her marriage, she lost so much: the family life she knew, the role and identity of being a wife and, in this case, the status of being part of the Kennedy family.

Perhaps to her, these were defeats that she apparently could not cope with. But what about the family she left behind? How will her four children, ages 11 to 17, deal with this great loss of their own?

    • 5 Ways to Lose Weight (Before July 4th)

      By Shira Scott for GalTime.com

Lose weight before July 4th!Lose weight before July 4th!The season I fear most is just weeks away! Prime bathing suit season. It's early June and my anxiety level is starting to spike. I need to lose these love handles, the ones I hide so well under my sweaters.

Not being one for crash dieting, I know it will take until July 4th (or beyond) to feel comfortable in my own skin, but I'm ready to put my health (and my beach body) first with these tips from some of my expert friends who are nutritionists and certified personal trainers.

Here are 5 habits I'm putting to practice stat!

      1. Set small, realistic goals.

I want to lose 10 pounds, but not in week one! I'll shoot for 1-2 pounds every weigh-in. My real goal is to teach myself to make healthier food choices and eat normal amounts of my barbecue favorites.

      2. Find a diet buddy (or a support system that works for you).

Diet buddies keep you motivated. You can always count on your partner, a friend of relative to give you the evil eye

''I don't know what that's all about because I'm well off on my own, thank you. But I guess it's the one nice thing he is doing for me, so I'll take it.''

Still, Demi would like to be married with children by the time she's 30 years old:

''I want to be married with kids in 10 years. Just to a guy who makes me laugh. Obviously, I have to be attracted to him, but a sense of humor really does it for me. I don't have many deal breakers. I've done so much in my life, it doesn't feel right to judge other people. Oh, I know one quality I won't tolerate. I would never be with a guy who is controlling.''

Out of Africa: Streep and Redford. COME ON! With those two, you just know it's gonna be great. And how it was, is, and always will be. I will never get over the scene with the lions. Ever. It's just not gonna happen. I'm typing this and starting to well up. Must.move.on.
