    • Do Our Kids Really Need Best Friends?

So, it goes something like this. I will be with a good friend and suddenly they'll get very excited and tell me how much they want to introduce me to their best friend. Hmm, I wonder what does that make me -less than best, good, lukewarm, or even easily replaceable?

In what area, I'd like to know, do I come up short? Or, is best friend simply a label given to those that have known us for the longest period of time?

I think about this some more. I have go-to friends for different reasons. There is one friend who I call when I want to laugh, another that I go to see when I want some advice, and yet another that I love to see because we share so many memories that we rehash. Best, hmm, I'm just not sure.

This leaves me with a lingering thought. Are we doing our kids any good when we reinforce the concept of best friends or "besties" as they sometimes call them? Perhaps, we should

Porn for Women Porn for Women Doug Does Dallas? Porn is clearly not just for men.

A few years back, erotic literature took romance bookshelves by storm, with staggering sales for women who wanted an extra helping of sensuality in their stories. But today, many women are taking things to the next level, tuning into adult films made with a female audience in mind.

Move over slutty secretaries and let the hot handymen take center stage! While, sure, there are still many more adult movies made for men, in the past few years women porn directors are stepping up to the plate, creating erotic masterpieces with the female audience in mind.

Women-centric porn focuses on sensuality, without sacrificing the heat. The directors often try to introduce a stronger storyline, a dash of romance, and actual character development-go figure! And the women featured are usually more realistic-- i.e. fewer breast implants and stiletto heels, more diversity and real-life curves.

Candy is not just for eating in my home. Jelly beans and marshmallow characters become super simple candle holders or vases.

Any size container will work for a Layered Jelly Bean Candle Holder. Just separate the colors of jelly beans and layer them!

You can pour the first color in but after that you will need to gently place a few jelly beans at a time around the edge to create a layered effect. Put your candle in the middle and sprinkle left over candy around the bowl.

Yellow sugared marshmallow chicks now enjoy a farmyard full of friends. I have seen green frogs, purple bunnies, black and white puppies, orange kittens, white sheep and even pink piglets.

    • How to Initiate Sex

By Romance Recovery's Johanna Lyman for GalTime.com

Initiating Sex Initiating Sex Despite nearly five decades passing since Betty Friedan wrote The Feminine Mystique and ushered in a new wave of feminism, many women are still uncomfortable initiating sex. If you're not one of those women, congratulations! If you are, read on.

Sex seems to be the last wave in the feminist movement, which began in the 1800's. Two hundred years later, we are beginning to understand that it's good... really good... to be a woman. Women have skills that men can't touch. And yes, men have skills women can't touch, but we're beginning to realize that doesn't make them better. We are beginning to honor the feminine essence, and I say that it's about time.

One of the great things that happens as we honor the essence of the feminine is that we let ourselves lighten up and play a little. If you've never initiated sex before, or do it rarely, you might be a little intimidated. Don't take it so seriously! It's really not that

    • Why Are so Many Women Avoiding Sex?

      By GalTime.com
On TV and in the movies, it seems like everyone's getting it on-- and having a great time doing it. In real life, maybe not so much. In fact, a study by the British Association of Urological Surgeons found two-thirds of women report having some kind of sexual hang-up that's keeping them from enjoying the act of lovemaking as they should.

      Here's the breakdown of problems:

      1. Lack of desire (47 percent)

      2. Orgasm problems (45 percent)

      3. Arousal issues (40 percent)

      4. Lack of satisfaction (39 percent)

      5. Lack of lubrication (37 percent)

      6. Pain (36 percent)

Is this just a case of adding a little foreplay to your repertoire? Or are these actually symptoms of bigger, underlying psychological issues? Psychotherapist Dr. Tina B. Tessina aka "Dr. Romance" and author of Money, Sex and Kids: Stop Fighting About the Three Things That Can Ruin Your Marriage says one of the biggest problems women face when it comes to sex is getting to a place

One of the most damaging actions you can take in your life is to not resist the tendency to live in the past. When you embrace the belief that because something has always been, it will always be .

When you allow your identity to be dictated by what is behind you-- you do not leave any room in your life for change. You say you want things to be different, but you do not allow that change to be planted, nurtured, and to grow within because of the belief that if things have always been, they will always be.

Today, take stock of those beliefs that are getting in your way about your life, grab them by the roots, and pull them from your heart.

Resist the habit of familiarity and create the space for new understandings of self to be planted. Give yourself permission to be different, to have your life unfold differently in the future than it has in the past.

    • An Apple a Day: A Wise Health Adage

      By Kathy Freston for GalTime.com

So what benefits do I REALLY get from an 'apple-a-day'? So what benefits do I REALLY get from an 'apple-a-day'?

Apples are so common you've probably forgotten how absolutely delicious they are, so pure and sweet and crunchy. There is something clean about an apple, so elementally uncomplicated and straightforward.

I always buy a big bag of apples once a week at the farmers' market and keep them on my kitchen counter as a centerpiece. Nice to be able to munch on the centerpiece, don't you think?

I keep them there as a reminder to dig in, and also as a counterweight should I get itchy for a sweet snack. If I'm rooting around for something to eat, I'll grab an apple while I'm looking, and usually by the time I'm finished eating it, my hunger has been sidelined.

We've all the heard the old adage "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." But there is evidence that this single daily apple has significant, measurable benefits. A major review published in 2008 out of the German Cancer Research Center found that indeed, compared with those who eat less
