    • Five Guys Reveal What They Think About Girls Doing "The Reach"...

http://media.zenfs.com/en-US/blogs/partner/restaurant-check.jpgWhen you're on a first date and the waiter brings the check, a whopping 50% of you (myself included!) do the old "reach" for your wallets but let the guy pay. So, I started wondering, what do men think of the reach? Do they appreciate the polite gesture? Or not so much?

Here, five guys reveal what they really think of "the reach"...

Guy #1: "The reach is transparent, yes, but necessary. It seems entitled to not make some gesture to help pay, even if the girl knows the guy won't actually take her up on it. It's just an awkward moment all around, though, and you can't escape it."

Guy #2: "I want her to do a blatantly ceremonial reach. The guy should always pay on the first date; it's part of the old-fashioned mating dance. I don't care about 'this economy'; the economy of romance hasn't changed."

Guy #3: "If the 'reach' is obviously insincere, then I consider it to be a bunch of B.S. and a telling sign

1014-casino_sm.jpgDrew, my dad and I went to the Atlantic City boardwalk this summer, and I had to beg them not to go into the casinos. Instead, we just took a picture in front of one.Ever since I was little, I've spent most of my weekends during the summer down the shore, near Atlantic City where my family has a condo. I love going there because it's quiet and relaxing. When Drew first found out that my family had a place down the shore, he was so excited to go...not for the beach, but for the casinos.

I immediately told Drew how much I hate gambling. I completely understand that it can be fun to do every now and then, but it makes me nervous to see how people can get addicted to the thrill of the win. Drew isn't a huge gambler, but he really loves playing craps and poker (he watches professional poker on TV whenever it's on). It frustrates me to see him "studying" because it just makes him want to try out whatever tricks he learns from the pros. He and I work so hard, and I don't think it's smart to risk any of our salaries on a game. Luckily, Drew has recently gone into major money lockdown because he wants to see how much we can save over the year, so I'm not

    • Have You Reached Your "I Want To Be Married" Age?

I prefer birthday cupcakes to wedding cake anyway! I prefer birthday cupcakes to wedding cake anyway! You already told us what age you want to get married, but are any of you freaking out that you've reached that age and you aren't even dating anyone?

My girlfriend was telling me how upset she is for her upcoming 29th birthday because she always wanted to be married by that age. She's frustrated because she hasn't had a serious boyfriend in years, and she doubts she is going to meet someone and get engaged within the next month (Hey, Khloe did it)! But in all seriousness, she's stressing out because she randomly picked this age years ago as her "I'll be married by then" goal, and now she feels like she's failed at her life "to-do" list.

I can relate: I hate when I set a goal for myself and then miss it, but I told her that marriage can't be given a due date. I know that quick advice didn't help 100 percent, so I told her to focus her energy on something else. And I'm so impressed-instead of dwelling on her birthday as a day to feel like a failure for missing her personal

    • Heidi Klum is Changing Her Last Name!

http://media.zenfs.com/en-US/blogs/partner/293.klum.heidi.120407.jpgConfession: I have a serious girl-crush on Heidi Klum. I love her icy-cold manner on Project Runway, as well as her gorgeous outfits every week. (She can pull off anything.)

So, my ears pricked up when I heard that Heidi won't be using the last name "Klum" anymore. Here's her new name...

      Samuel!

According to Access Hollywood, Heidi has filed a petition to legally take her husband Seal's last name. His full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (wow, impressive!), and she'll now be Heidi Samuel. The blissful couple have been married since May 2005, and they already have some sweet children--and are expecting a daughter soon.

Heidi Samuel...huh. It has a certain ring to it? (Apparently, there's another Heidi Samuel -- a Republican politician in Columbus, Ohio.)

So, what do you think? Do you like her new name? Will you take your partner's name when you get married? Or will you keep your maiden name? Or will you make up a new last name, like this creative

    • Do Your In-Laws and Your Parents Get Along?

http://media.zenfs.com/en-US/blogs/partner/meet-the-fockers-photo.jpgMy girlfriend was telling me last night how her soon-to-be-in-laws and her parents are best friends-they do everything together. They go on "double dates" once a week, and they're even planning a cruise over Thanksgiving. She thinks it's hilarious that she and her fiance introduced them because they're basically inseparable. But I know this is not the norm...

My other friend, S, has an incredibly awkward situation she's had to deal with for years: Her mom and dad can't stand her husband's parents, and her in-laws hate her parents just as much (and they're both super vocal about it). S said the feud started when her in-laws decided to plan a family vacation over her birthday. Her mom thought it was insensitive, and when S asked them to pick a new date so she could be with her family on her birthday, they refused. It all went downhill from there. Once S and F got engaged, the fighting between their parents escalated. They both wanted to plan the wedding, and they fought over who would

    • Do or Don't: Joint Bank Accounts

The couple in happier daysThe couple in happier daysFor someone who claims to be sick of all the Jon and Kate Gosselin drama, I sure write about them a lot! I just can't help it though...they always have something crazy going on. Did you see the newest scandal? Jon allegedly withdrew $200,000 from his and Kate's joint bank account without her knowing, leaving only $1,000 in the account.

According to the story, Kate only learned about the withdrawal after she received overdraft notices. When she called the bank to ask about her joint account, they told her that Jon had removed $200,000. I'm surprised she doesn't check the account online more often especially because of her marital situation.

Drew and I have a joint account, and I don't check it as often as I should. I trust him with everything, especially our finances, but I get frustrated when he questions me about purchases because I never do that to him. He says he wants to follow up about random charges which he thinks could be fraudulent, but I joke with him that I know he just Read More »from Do or Don't: Joint Bank Accounts

    • Would You Tell Your Man He’s Gotten Pudgy?

http://stupidcelebrities.net/wp-content/matt_damon_child_01_wenn1358870.jpgEarlier today we discussed Ben Affleck's habit of being overly honest when it comes to wife Jen Garner's appearance. And now, sweet sweet revenge in the battle of women vs. men...

Matt Damon recently gained weight for his role in The Informant and said that his wife gently pointed out that that might be the reason his clothes didn't fit.

Matt's job is making him fat...is yours?

"I was like, 'What's going on?' I took another suit out and it didn't fit either," Damon said. "Honestly, what I thought was that somehow [George] Clooney had gotten in and paid somebody to slightly hem [the suits]. My wife said to me, 'Could it be that maybe you've put on some weight?' I'm like, 'That's absurd! I look fantastic!'"

Ah ya gotta love men. No matter how gross and unappealing they become, they see nothing but a ladykilling stud every time they look in the mirror.

Do, Dump or Marry: Matt Damon!

Another difference is this: If a woman decides to be super honest, she'll at least

    • Do or Don't: Quickie Weddings

http://media.zenfs.com/en-US/blogs/partner/khloe-kardashian-lamar-odom-hugging.jpgAs I'm sure you've heard, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom tied the knot yesterday after a whirlwind relationship: They dated for one month. Putting that fact aside, let's just talk about the actual wedding planning...would you ever want to organize your wedding in three weeks? As you saw from all of Joanna's wedding planning, deciding on the dress, the hair, the rings, and of course, the shoes usually takes some time. It's supposed to be one of the most important days of your life, so why rush through it?

But Khloe and Lamar have taken quickie wedding to the next level! They planned their wedding in just under a month. I honestly don't know how she did it. I know she has a ton of help, and she doesn't have to worry about money, but three weeks? That sounds insanely stressful to me-I know I would have had an anxiety attack with that deadline.

Would you ever be up for planning a "quickie wedding?" Do you want to take your time planning your wedding, or are you the kind of person who
