When you're on a first date and the waiter brings the check, a whopping 50% of you (myself included!) do the old "reach" for your wallets but let the guy pay. So, I started wondering, what do men think of the reach? Do they appreciate the polite gesture? Or not so much?

Here, five guys reveal what they really think of "the reach"...

Guy #1: "The reach is transparent, yes, but necessary. It seems entitled to not make some gesture to help pay, even if the girl knows the guy won't actually take her up on it. It's just an awkward moment all around, though, and you can't escape it."

Guy #2: "I want her to do a blatantly ceremonial reach. The guy should always pay on the first date; it's part of the old-fashioned mating dance. I don't care about 'this economy'; the economy of romance hasn't changed."

Drew, my dad and I went to the Atlantic City boardwalk this summer, and I had to beg them not to go into the casinos. Instead, we just took a picture in front of one.Ever since I was little, I've spent most of my weekends during the summer down the shore, near Atlantic City where my family has a condo. I prefer birthday cupcakes to wedding cake anyway!You already told us what age you want to get married, but are any of you freaking out that you've reached that age and you aren't even dating anyone?

My girlfriend was telling me how upset she is for her upcoming 29th birthday because she always wanted to be married by that age. Confession: I have a serious girl-crush on Heidi Klum. I love her icy-cold manner on Project Runway, as well as her gorgeous outfits every week. (She can pull off anything.)

According to Access Hollywood, Heidi has filed a petition to legally take her husband Seal's last name. His full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (wow, impressive!), and she'll now be Heidi Samuel. The blissful couple have been married since May 2005, and they already have some sweet children--and are expecting a daughter soon.

Heidi Samuel...huh. It has a certain ring to it? (Apparently, there's another Heidi Samuel -- a Republican politician in Columbus, Ohio.)

The couple in happier daysFor someone who claims to be sick of all the Jon and Kate Gosselin drama, I sure write about them a lot! I just can't help it though...they always have something crazy going on. Did you see the newest scandal? Jon allegedly withdrew $200,000 from his and Kate's joint bank account without her knowing, leaving only $1,000 in the account.

According to the story, Kate only learned about the withdrawal after she received overdraft notices. When she called the bank to ask about her joint account, they told her that Jon had removed $200,000. I'm surprised she doesn't check the account online more often especially because of her marital situation.

Drew and I have a joint account, and I don't check it as often as I should. I trust him with everything, especially our finances, but I get frustrated when he questions me about purchases because I never do that to him.
