According to a recent study published in Nature Neuroscience, a group of scientists and experts from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and the University of North Carolina have discovered a class of nerve fibers in the skin which are designed to send pleasure messages. They found that people had to be stroked at 4-5cm per second to activate the pleasure sensation. If the stroke is faster or slower than that optimum speed, the touch will not be pleasurable because the nerve fibers won't be activated.
