A different kind of domestic violence has been identified: pressuring a woman to have a child against her will. It's called "reproductive coercion" and according to a survey released this week, it's fairly common among victims of abuse.
One in four women who called the The National Domestic Violence Hotline said they were pressured to into having unprotected sex. Some were pushed into sex with out a condom, others had their pills flushed down the toilet or holes poked in their condoms.
This is not your standard "maybe we should try for another" pressure, according to Esta Soler, president of the Family Violence Prevention Fund. It's a deliberate act of control on partner's body. "Birth control sabotage is a serious form of control that leads to unintended pregnancy and sexual transmitted infections," says Soler, according to Ms. Magazine.
As a victim of physical abuse, the built-in fear of angering her partner had one woman sneaking her pill in the bathroom and another worried her

Kris Jenner has made her daughter Kim Kardashian the highest paid (and least dressed) reality star. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/WireImage)Kris Jenner and Hugh Hefner have a lot in common. They both have top-rated reality series on the same network. They both run lucrative family-operated businesses. And they both built a multi-million dollar brand out of sex. The only difference is that Kris's pin-ups are her daughters. Is she mom of the year or exploiting her kids for a profit?
The $65 million she helped her family earn as their manager this year suggests a combination of both. The Kardashian empire started with a sex tape in 2007 and has since mushroomed into cheesecake calendars, bikini-clad endorsement deals and an all-access pass to the private lives of a family of beautiful women, and girls.
As the brains behind the branding of her family, she pulls in 10 percent of that eight figure earning, according to The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive interview with the most successful 'momager' in entertainment. In addition to the reality series "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and its various spin-offs, her three oldestRead More »from Is Kris Jenner pimping out her daughters or protecting them?

Lara Logan in Egypt (Reuters)Yesterday, CBS released a statement that reporter Lara Logan was sexually assaulted and beaten while on assignment in Egypt. "In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers," read the official account from the network.
Speculation on the horrific incident has followed but only a few facts about the incident are public. We know she was saved by a group of women, but who? Presumably they were Egyptian, and likely partaking in the historic protests and regime change. That alone is significant.
By most measures, the Egyptian females participating in the Tahrir Square protests were taking a risk just being there. Protester Fatma Emam faced threats from family members and was called "a man" for participating in the rally against Mubarak. "There are so many women who, like me, defied their families," Emam told Bloomberg News.

1. Kate and Wills have chosen their best man and maid of honor. The honorary titles, and stag/hen party planning duties, go to both of their siblings. Prince Harry will serve as Will's top groomsman and Kate's sister Pippa will be the head bridesmaid.
2. They also picked the rest of their wedding party. For the bride, the maids include Will's 7-year-old cousin Lady Louise Windsor, 8-year-old royal relative Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Will's 3-year-old goddaughter Grace van Cutsem, and Camilla's 3-year-old granddaughter Eliza Lopes. All together, their ages don't even add up to Kate's. Let's be honest, Pippa didn't have much competition for the title with this crowd. On the groom's end, the group is equally under age. There's 10-year-old Billy Lowther

Hot Marlon Brando can spot a woman's 'gothic aspects' from across the room. (Hulton Archive/Getty Images)For anyone who's ever fantasized about a steamy night with a young Marlon Brando, I'm about to pop your dream bubble with two words: Dear. Lady.Read More »from Marlon Brando's strange love letter to a stewardess
Seems that Brando wasn't as smolderingly romantic as his '50s film portrayals had us believe. A love letter Brando sent to an anonymous stewardess in 1966 offers a window into what it might have been like to be wooed by the legend.
The online letter archive, Letters of Note, published the medium-insulting typed up note (possibly dictated to an assistant), and it's since gone viral. So who is this stewardess that's making waves over 50 years after she sexually twisted Brando's mind like a purple nurple? Just call her 'Lady.' He does.
Here's the note in full:
Dear Lady -
There is something not quite definable in your face - something lovely, not pretty in a conventionally thought of way. You have something graceful and tender and feminine (sp). You seem to be a woman who has been loved in her childhood, or else, somehow by the mystery of

(Photo by Getty Images)New York Fashion Week has its share of crashers. Sneaking into invitation-only runway shows is such a phenomenon that The Wall Street Journal even offered advice on breaching security last year. "Crash with purpose. Walk with purpose. Above all, dress with purpose," are the words of wisdom. If 'purpose' is the key to crashing the shows, who's got more of it: men or women? I had a hunch guys would have more luck than women. If fashion is all about standing out, it's logical a man would be more coveted as a guest (invite or no) in a world where their sex is an endangered species. To put my hypothesis to the test, I challenged Best Week Ever's Dan Hopper to a battle of the sexes, Fashion Week style. Who was more likely to pass security and even gain access to a show? Check out the play-by-play slideshow to find out.Read More »from Is it easier for a guy or girl to crash Fashion Week? We found out!

Read More »from 20 crazy facts about 'Thelma and Louise' 20 years later
It's been 20 years since "Thelma and Louise" drove off cliff, and after all this time, the movie is still chicken soup for the recently dumped soul. Other girl power movies may try, (I'm looking at you "Boys on the Side"), but it takes more than a vintage car and a southern accent to match the original. The 1991 film, which starred Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, and a little known actor named Brad Pitt, has just been re-released on Blu-Ray. But first let's look back on some movie trivia from the time of VCRs. Here are 20 facts about the great lady caper you probably don't know...
1. Geena Davis was rumored to have a fling with Brad Pitt on set. Months before the movie came out, gossip columnist Liz Smith wrote: "The rumor mill is grinding with the news that Geena and actor Brad Pitt are an item. [ed note: notice how he still needed descriptor before his name!] Pitt appears with her and Susan Sarandon in the upcoming film 'Thelma and Louise.' Davis has been described as 'flipping' for
Leotards hit the Rebecca Minkoff runway. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images for IMG)Not since Liza Minnelli has a grown woman so proudly displayed a black leotard as evening wear. Camel toe be darned, the model at today's Rebecca Minkoff show at New York's Fashion Week pulled it off so well it almost looks feasible. But nuh-uh.Read More »from Fashion Week: Nuh-Uh Photo of the Day
Every other decade, the fashion world tries to bring back the leotard, sans tutu. Thanks, but we'll pass. Remember in the '90s when every blouse and t-shirt came with two crotch snaps? Real talk: It also came with yeast infections.
