      Valentine's Day Fun

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day as a family?...

One fun way to celebrate was brought up by @AnEverydayJen who puts little gifts on her children's nightstands for them to wake up to. Just little things like books, art supplies or even a little candy.

Another great idea is to buy a simple heart shaped cookie cutter that can be used to make heart-shaped pancakes, eggs, cookies, sandwiches… and even hamburgers to get into the Vday spirit! (thanks @pittsbrgh24 and @lynlomasi)

And aren't holidays supposed to be about the sentiment and not the stuff? Here are some tweets to inspire us to just

    • Eggs: To Freeze or Not to Freeze?...An Exercise in Fertility

As I drove to my doctor's office for a routine checkup, I had a mission. I wanted to ask about the option of freezing my eggs. I half-wished that he would just tell me that I'm too old, my eggs are done, and it would be a waste of time and money to freeze my creaky, 38-year-old eggs. Hearing that would instantly save me from taking action regarding my reproductive future, not to mention, thousands of dollars. But that's not what he said.

He told me that the time is now. That I shouldn't even wait a year. Oh boy. Here we go. I'm a divorced single mom of a four-year old boy, who is the light of my life. I never thought I'd be the woman willing to spend thousands of dollars on conceiving my own biological child, but when I look at our faces in the mirror, or him playing with my parents, or see how similar our expressions are, my heart swells. I never thought my marriage would end, and I never thought I'd be a single mom at 38, contemplating the end of my natural fertility. But here I

    • My Little Son of a Gun

My son can turn anything into a gun. His fingers. A rubber band. String cheese. Other moms had warned me of this Macgyver-esque phenomenon in young boys, and boy oh boy, it is in full bloom at our house.

Recently, I tried to give some plastic hangers away and he almost cried because apparently they are his "crossbows." And as you can see below, our broom with attached dustpan doubles as a "rifle."

      My son's rifle.

As we drive to school he asks me what kind of missiles or bombs I want him to shoot out of his "pumper"(a broken bicycle pump) at the bad guys hiding in the bushes. And my favorite of all?...The educational marble maze bought at the learning store that gets built into a "shooter," as well as colored binoculars to find bad guys to shoot, just not, heaven forbid, an educational marble maze.

Where does he get it? I've never bought him a gun, a bomb, a crossbow or anything of the ilk. I encourage toe-nail polish and tea parties in a gender open environment at home. Our television

    • Golden Moments of Mother(Father)hood

This Week in M.O.M…Was it just me, or were the Golden Globes overflowing with moments of motherhood?

From a grinning Jodie Foster showing off her two sons,

      Jodie Foster and sons

to a radiant Jessica Alba, who only delivered 4 months ago, moms were representing big time at the 2012 Golden Globes.

      Jessica Alba

One highlight was Michelle Williams' touching acceptance speech for her role in My Week With Marilyn, where she said that she "considers herself a mother first, and an actor second" and thanked her daughter Matilda for sending her off to work every day with a hug and a kiss. She also shared that for weeks, she read all the princesses' voices in Matilda's bedtime stories in a Marilyn Monroe voice. Now, that's a mom who knows how to multi-task, and knows the importance of job #1. Love her!

And not to leave the dads out, Peter Dinklage's acceptance speech for his role on Game of Thrones was one that every parent could relate to. He revealed that it was he and his wife's first night away from

    • Can Astrology Help You Be a Better Mom?

THIS WEEK IN M.O.M…What can your child's Astrological sign tell you? Our host Diane Mizota sat down with Astrologer Terry Nazon to learn how a horoscope may actually help you become a better parent. Watch!

For more on Terry's thoughts about the twelve Astrological signs and what they say about children, read below…

Aries (March 20-April 19) -Aries children are very precocious! They may be the first to jump out of the highchair or start walking immediately because they cannot wait to get a start on life.

Taurus (April 20-May 21) - A Taurus child may not be adventurous with food, so he or she may want to eat the same thing throughout childhood. Moms, don't bother fighting with them because they will out fight you!

Gemini (May 20-June 21) - Gemini children are very quick learners, and they may learn to tie their shoes quickly. They are very intelligent and competitive in school. A Gemini child may be the first to raise his or her hand in class.

      Cancer (June 22-July
