Spring is on the horizon and it's time to shed that winter fat. So I asked Brooklyn Decker for a few of her body-fab food, fitness, and lifestyle tips. After all, according to the movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler,Brooklyn has the type of body that makes "normal girls" insecure about being in a bathing suit (something no woman ever wants to hear).
While her body is pretty much perfect, Brooklyn says that even she has a hard time when it comes to balancing life with exercise and healthy eating. "I, like most women, get caught up in my day-to-day life and job. Sometimes, I get so busy that I forget, or I lose my days and don't allow myself to fit a workout session in. I also go through phases where I become so strict that I go to the gym every day. My biggest struggle is just finding that balance and making my routine consistent. I want it to last a lifetime!" Here's how Brooklyn stays in shape and keeps her body trim.

It's a week before a big date with that hot guy that you've been eying for way too long. You want to look "perfect." As you plan your outfit you flip through a few chick's magazine and inevitably find pages of "perfect" bodies. But even for those models and actresses, that perceived perfection wasn't easy to attain. Sweating, spray tanning, spa'ing, and dieting to the verge of starving is often requisite photo-shoot prep, followed by posing in practiced stances that best flaunt those hard-earned assets. Why oh why must we put our bodies through such strain to attain this ridiculously unrealistic "perfect?" Sure, one bad pic could land even the most body-coveted celeb on one of many "worst" lists, but what affect do their habits have on us? Promoting that near-impossible standard of "perfect" can cause the every woman to stress about our less than paparazzi-picturesque reflection.
But here's the BIG SECRET: Celebs don't maintain "perfect" year round. In fact, they

When used correctly, salt elevates the flavor of food, making dull nuances pop and bringing otherwise bland dishes to life. The problem is, when used incorrectly and excessively the body responds by becoming visibly puffy, bloated, swollen, like you gained 5 pounds overnight. Long-term, salt has been linked to high blood pressure- the leading cause of cardiovascular disease.
So what is blood pressure exactly?Read More »from The Salt Shakedown: 5 Ways to Cut the Salt and Stop Being So Puffy
It's a measure of the force of blood against artery walls. When that pressure rises too high, it can cause damage to the heart, kidneys, brain, and even eyes. Beyond salt, lack of exercise, poor diet, and family history also contribute to high blood pressure. But if you want to point your finger at the main culprit when it comes to Americans- it's salt, mostly in processed foods.
Why the Puff?
Salt, or sodium, is responsible for forming water-regulating electrolytes within the body's cells and tissue which helps prevent dehydration.

It is SO easy to blame "special occasion" on, what will be your eventual weight gain. What do I mean? Flowers are sweet when you're sick…. Until that sweet scent inevitably turns putrid, infiltrating your home forcing you to grab the vase (nose plugged) and toss the entire thing into the dumpster outside. Not much of an incentive to finally get back your sense of smell!
Maybe think of another way to send your well wishes. An e-card is fine if you're a firm believer in the "it's the thought that counts" mantra. Or, instead of the obvious get-well-soon gestures, send something that might even help them get well!
Grandma's Chicken Soup
Mounting studies have been served up proving that old-fashioned chicken soup really does ease cold symptoms! Grandma's Chicken Soup will deliver a generous size of chicken noodle or matzo ball soup, a personalized greeting, plus other healing items to help your friend recuperate. And if dinner keeps forgetting to make itself, send some to yourself too, you know, as a preventative measure.
Vitamin C- pretty much a necessity

Fact: The average person eats almost 5,000 calories on Thanksgiving.
Translation: The average person eats over 2 days worth of calories on Thanksgiving.
Fact: 3500 unburned calories equals 1 pound of fat. The average woman naturally burns 1700 calories and the average man burns 2,000 calories everyday without exercising.
Translation: The average woman eats 3300/man eats 3000 extra calories on Thanksgiving. That's almost a 1 pound weight gain in 1 day.
Here's the good news: you don't have to gain even that 1 pound! I'm not about to suggest that you starve yourself of holiday joy (of eating). Just make smart choices on what and when to gorge, and try these 7 ways to not gain a pound this holiday season:
1. Stop the "It's a Special Occasion" Excuse. It's easy to rationalize any day as being a special occasion. That doesn't mean you have to celebrate it through your stomach. Sure, eat the slice of pie on the big night with the fam, but don't eat another slice or two

Hungover? Only got 4 hours of sleep last night? No need to advertise it all over your face. Recover from a hard night, without looking like you were run over by a bus, with:
-Cardio to get your blood pumping, circulating fresh energizing oxygen to your face and brain.
-Food that revitalizes your skin, detoxes the stuck toxins out of your system, and awakens your senses, making you appear bright-eyed and bushy tailed (or at least better than road kill).
Hangovers happen when our already overburdened livers struggle to clear out the excessive amount of toxins and chemicals ingested from too much alcohol. Our blood sugar dips. Our bodies are dehydrated, and overall fatigue takes over. Basically, you are creating a toxic internal environment and your body is letting you know.
I know, when you're hungover or overly exhausted, the LAST thing you want to do is workout. But the fact is that it works. Doing a quick 15 minute cardio workout will help get your blood

Studies show that 1 in 4 "healthy" adults consume an average of 10 "fun size" candy bars on Halloween. Translation: Approximately 775 calories and 24.5g fat. So if the whole fit mindset holds true, you know the concept that if you make one fit decision you increase your odds of making another and another... (like deciding to take the stairs instead of the escalator, which leads you to choose the skim over the whole fat latte), then dressing up as a healthy icon this Halloween just might be your ticket to avoiding the binge fest.
Halloween seems to be the start of fat season. It's cyclical if you really think about it:
New Year (slim down begins)
Spring (amp up the fitness mentality in prep for bikini season)
Summer (bikini season=leanest point of the year)
Fall (Holidays start to roll around and the fitness lifestyle gets the shaft)
Winter (diet? What diet)
New Year (slim down begins)
And on and on we roll year after year.
So this year, avoid the beginning of

Thunder thighs, saddle bags, muffin top, bat wings… I know… I even cringe just writing those words. Well, it's time to do something to finally make them go away. Problem is, we are often too tired, busy, broke, lazy, or just plain old unsure about how to burn them off. In hopes of finally harnessing and hacking off the fat, we drop loads of cash on gym memberships and exercise equipment. And then what?
How many pieces of unused exercise equipment do you have lying around your house? How many months have you paid for a gym membership, but not gone?
You don't to hit the gym or buy expensive equipment to finally get your body in shape and your heart healthy. You can simply walk that ass, muffin top, and saddle bags, even bat wings off!
I'm not saying to go for a stroll or mosey on down the street. Walk with purpose! Strut it if that makes you mean it! Walking workouts are some of the most effective modes to lose weight and keep it off. This WALKtober, make it a goal to
