Those short baby hairs around my hairline and part line seriously cramp my style. I asked hairstylist Marshall Lin of Frederic Fekkai for advice.
"Rub a small amount of styling wax between your fingertips, and use your fingers to work the shorter hairs (along the hairline and on the crown) into the rest of the hair," he says. "The wax will seal the short hairs into place. Lin suggests Frederic Fekkai Coiff Nonchalant Piecing and Forming Wax ($23). I also love Philip B. Shin-Aid Pomade ($26).
If the hairs on your part line are really out of hand ("Usually from blow-drying without heat protection"), sometimes it's best to surrender.
"Shift your part a centimeter or so until the hairs grow," he says. "Short, spiky hairs are hard to fight. Sometimes it's best to work around them."
