I consider myself to be a relatively confident chick. I'm not one to necessarily walk into a room and want everyone to orbit around me, but I'm grateful for what my Momma gave me -- and I know how to work it.
That's why I was surprised (and frankly, a little pissed off) when my self-esteem came into question today. You see, I went to makeup school to report on insider tips and tricks like these. And when my story went live, a reader chimed in with the following comment:
"It is sad that women feel the need to put on so much makeup to feel attractive. What a ruse! The author's employer should've sent this poor woman to a psychiatrist to deal with her self-esteem issues, not beauty school to write an article providing beauty tips. My advice: The author ought to … judge herself on her worth as a professional rather than her skill at combining foundation and primer or curling her eyelashes."
