Oh, so you're dating someone long-distance? Wait, he lives halfway around the world?? What are you thinking??? There's no end to the questions that your friends, family, and acquaintances will start firing at you as soon as you tell them you're in a long distance relationship (LDR).
The truth is, most people can't fathom why you'd willingly participate in a relationship that requires you to trade a Friday night dinner date for a Friday night Skype date. Not to worry though - you aren't alone. According to Statistic Brain, 14 million people defined their relationships as long distance in 2012.

Clearly, LDRs are becoming more common. Still, you'd better get prepped to answer a boatload of queries one you announce you're in one. Here are 5 questions you'll definitely get asked (and how to answer them):
1. Why would you ever get into a long distance relationship?
Your friends may never understand

Hot weather has arrived, which means you've shoved scarves to the back of your closet and are waiting with eager anticipation to get it on. Not to say that you don't during any other season, but Sandy and Danny knew what they were singing about - summer brings loving and having a blast, know what I mean? With that in mind, how can you continue to look great while cozying up to the object of your affection in triple-digit temps? I have some suggestions.
1. Pre-date, apply a heat-activated antiperspirant. It's a simple fact: the hotter the weather, the more you will sweat, and sweating is gross. A double-whammy antiperspirant-deodorant that is [literally] turned on by your body's heat is imperative. As I would rather smell like a lumberjack than a dainty social media professional, Degree Men is one of my favorites. Still sweating? Underarm Botox is a fairly dramatic alternative.

How to Date a Woman Who Is Taller Than You: 5 Tipsby Chiara Atik for HowAboutWeRead More »from How to Date a Woman Who is Taller Than You: 5 Tips
So you're into a lady who happens to be a few inches taller than you are. No big! Here's how to be chill about the height difference, with as little awkwardness/self-consciousness as possible from both parties.
1. Don't Make a Big Deal Out of It.
Emily Altman had a thing against dating someone shorter than she is…until she started dating someone shorter than she is. How'd her current beau sneak in, despite the height requirement?
"He like, doesn't notice it or even care about it and he's certainly not threatened by it. He's completely comfortable in his skin so the fact that he's shorter than me never bothers him, so that helps."
When approaching a girl who's taller, don't mention the height difference, don't point out how tall she is (she knows.), don't make a self-deprecating joke about your own height. Just…be normal.
Tekoa Smith, who at 5'10 is a veteran at dating shorter men, adds, "If a guys opening line is about our height difference then he

10 Hilarious Things People Have Said to Their Significant Others In Their SleepSleeping with someone is always full of complications. What side of the bed does he prefer to sleep on? Does she snore? Does he talk in his sleep?
Turns out sometimes sleep-talking can be the best part of sleeping together. (Okay, definitely not the best part - but a close second, perhaps?) One Redditor boldly asked the question "What's the funniest thing you've heard someone mumble in their sleep?," and we've been rolling on the floor laughing reading the answers. Here's just a taste…

Hot Date? Stay Cool With Three Summer Drink RecipesWe are officially in the season of sensuality. Private sunsets and late night slow dancing on the street. On any given balmy night a summer fling could catch fire. You want to be able to serve something cool to keep up with that heat. I recommend these three fruit-based cocktail coolers - Sandia Sundial, Spicy Solstice Margarita, and a Classic Havana Mojito - that are as sultry to taste as they are stunning to admire.

SANDIA SUNDIAL: A watermelon juice cooler for gin, tequila or rum.
This perfect mid-summer cooler is just right for a picnic with your date. The rosy hue and sweetness of the nectar consipires to be flirtatious and dangerously easy to suck down. The sugar notes and hydrating quality of the fruit make it an agreeable base for tequila, rum or gin. I sourced this recipe from my days living in Costa Rica where bebida de sandia (watermelon juice) was popular on hot days and nights.

A Look Inside the Convoluted, Highly Orchestrated World of Celebrity BreakupsWhile painful, messy and often the impetus for gaining 10 lbs., the breakup of a relationship for the average person is typically just a two-party affair. When one (or both) of those parties happens to be famous, things get a little more complicated.
Contrary to what we may be told, celebrities are nothing like us. They don't shop like us, work out like us and they most certainly do not break up like us. A celebrity breakup is a carefully executed business plan rolled out over a period of several months. The people involved include the manager, the publicist, the agent and members of the press. A celebrity can profit as much as $100,000 off a split and sometimes more.

I have been intimately involved in the inner workings of celebrity splits for years as a gossip columnist, as the author of the book "Celebrity Inc.: How Famous People Make Money," and as an editor. I asked one celebrity publicist (who

By Chiara Atik for HowAboutWeRead More »from Leaving for Vacation Just After Meeting Someone New? How to Handle
A recent question I got in my inbox:
"I'm going home tomorrow for a little R&R, and I'll be there for 2 weeks. The minute I made these travel plans, all the boys came to the yard. Currently talking to two guys: I've been on a date with one, we like each other, second date tonight. The other I met online, we're texting but haven't made a date yet. How do I make sure I don't lose momentum with either of them while I'm out of town?"
Good question, and one that's pretty common during the summer months, when long-booked vacation plans can get in the way of burgeoning romances.
Plus: The Complete Guide to Googling Your Date (Or Crush. Or Ex. Or Cute Barista. Or….)
If you've just started seeing someone (aka you've been on a few dates), going away for a short period of time shouldn't really affect the momentum too much, especially given that we live in the golden era of text messaging. If you're worried about receding completely from the other person's mind,
