In reality, I'm having breakfast with the star of America's Next Great Restaurant and Top Chef Masters to talk about his new partnership with Post Great Grains and his effort to get people to eat more whole foods instead of overly-processed junk. Curtis himself, is a whole foods junkie (how do you think he got that hot bod?), and he made me a delicious Post's Great Grains Crunchy Pecan-Banana Coffee Cake Muffin (recipe on the next page) to make me a believer as well.

The birth of twins used to be a rare occurrence, but these days in Hollywood it would appear as though every starlet and her hubby/boyfriend/ live-in lover has had or is preggers with two babies instead of the traditional one. Celine Dion, Marcia Cross, Julia Roberts, Rebecca Romjin, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Mary Stuart Masterson … the list goes on. Happy accidents? Well, according to splashy headlines and "in-depth" birth stories, the public is lead to believe that these twin births are divine will. And I'm here to tell you, that is likely not the case. Mother in Law

Ever since my in-laws came to stay with us last week and the dust has settled back on our bookshelves, I've been reflecting upon what is it about mother-in-laws that make daughter-in-laws feel scrutinized. Growing up, I remember how my mother became around my grandparents, her in-laws-she sat up straighter, was prone to nervous chatter, hopped up first to clear the table. I always wondered what she was on about as my brother and I sat in our pajamas eating chips and drinking Ginger Ale with our feet propped up on the coffee table. Nanny wasn't judgmental. Or was she?

Now that I'm a DIL myself, I'm beginning to understand the rule of mother and daughter-in-law relationships. Here's an exchange between my MIL and me from last week whilst preparing breakfast.

When we first saw the trailer for Water for Elephants (in theaters Friday), starring Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, and Christoph Waltz, we were entranced by the work of costume designer Jacqueline West. Reese's character is outfitted in gorgeous gowns and classically styled ensembles, which evoke that Old Hollywood glamour.
