According to new research, that's not really a great thing. Scientists from Kansas State University discovered that dating (and re-dating) an ex is common-nearly 40 percent of people in college are doing it. But it can have lasting effects on your long-term happiness.

Researchers discovered that dating the same guy again increases your risk of having relationship issues in the future, especially if you end up marrying him. They found that people who got hitched after having an on-again, off-again relationship were more likely to have a lower quality of marriage than people who didn't break up beforehand.
