According to a study from the University of Minnesota, the experiences you have with your mother as a baby may set the stage for how you view interpersonal connections in your life-including romantic relationships. That's not so sexy, but it might actually provide key intel on your own romantic style.

Researchers studied 75 children from birth until their 30s, analyzing how each acted in situations that tested the bond they had with their mothers. After assessing their emotional development over the years, they found that those who were "mistreated" were naturally more defensive and argumentative toward others, while those who had supportive mothers were more inclined to work through problems later on.

New study results for rape.Earlier this week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) released shocking new findings about sexual violence in the U.S. In an exhaustive study of more than 16,000 people, nearly one in five women surveyed say they've been raped. And one in 10 women has been raped by their boyfriend or husband. That means chances are, someone you're close to-and possibly several people that you know-has been a victim.

A group of Canadian scientists just released research that's pretty alarming: The more alcohol you consume in a night, the more likely you are to wind up having unprotected sex-whether you "know better" or not.

The researchers conducted 12 experiments, during which one group of participants drank alcohol while the other didn't. Participants in both groups were then asked to report how willing they would be to have unprotected sex in their current states. Researchers found that on average, every 0.1 milligram per milliliter increase in study participants' blood alcohol levels raised their likelihood of going at it sans condom by 5 percent.
