Baked Fig Crostini

Ingredients
4 oz. chopped cooked bacon or country ham
4 oz. crumbled goat cheese, softened
1 Tbsp. finely chopped toasted pecans
1 tsp. chopped fresh thyme
12 fresh figs
1 Tbsp. honey
Toasted baguette slices
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together bacon or country ham, softened goat cheese, finely chopped toasted pecans, and chopped fresh thyme. Cut figs in half. PRess back of small spoon into centers of fig halves, making a small indentation in each. Spoon bacon mixture into indentations. Bake on a baking sheet 7 minutes. Drizzle with honey. Serve immediately with toasted baguette slices.

Chunky Chocolate Gobs
Ingredients
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup butter-flavored shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies, coarsely chopped (16 cookies)
3 (1.75-oz.) Mounds bars, chilled and chopped
1 to 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
Preparation
Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until blended.
Combing flour and next 3 ingredients; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Stir in cookies, candy bars, and desired amount of chocolate morsels. Chill dough 30 minutes.

Broccoli, Grape, and Pasta Salad

Ingredients
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 (16-oz.) package farfalle (bow-tie) pasta
1 lb. fresh broccoli
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup diced red onion
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp. salt
2 cups seedless red grapes, halved
8 cooked bacon slices, crumbled
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 5 to 7 minutes or until lightly toasted and fragrant, stirring halfway through.
Prepare pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, cut broccoli florets from stems, and separate florets into small pieces using tip of a paring knife. Peel away outer layer of stems, and finely chop stems.

Grilled Chicken with White Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients
1 Tbsp. dried thyme
1 Tbsp. dried oregano
1 Tbsp. ground cumin
1 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
10 skin-on, bone-in chicken thighs (about 3 lb.)

White Barbecue Sauce
Stir together 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise, 1/4 cup white wine vinegar, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 Tbsp. coarse ground pepper, 1 Tbsp. spicy brown mustard, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, and 2 tsp. horseradish until blended. Cover and chill 2 to 4 hours. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.
Preparation
Combine first 7 ingredients until blended. Rinse chicken, and pat dry; rub seasoning mixture over chicken. Place chicken in a zip-top plastic freezer bag. Seal and chill 4 hours.
