I don't know about you, but when I was pregnant, the last thing on my mind was maternity shapewear. Pregnancy was stressful enough with the morning sickness and carpal tunnel, so the thought of wearing undergarments to "smoothe the hips" was the least of my concerns.

Texting while driving is dangerous, but that doesn't stop folks from doing it. I tell you, there's not a day that I'm on the road and don't see a driver looking down and texting while stopped at a light or, worse, driving on the freeway. Yikes! Can't it wait, people?

And then I saw this little iPhone Cradle for Strollers that "allows you to stay in touch while on the go." Pretty clever idea if you're traveling light or don't have any pockets, or if you're using it to play some music while you stroll. But I can already imagine the text/email addicts texting with one hand and pushing the stroller in the other. Not such a good idea in my book.

There are a lot of things I don't like about my Maclaren Techno XT umbrella stroller. I wish it was lighter and less awkward so carrying it up and down steps wasn't such a hassle. I also wish it was easier to fold and had a carrying strap so I could hoist it around with less effort. All that being said, though, I love my stroller. I don't go anywhere without my stroller. In snow, sleet, rain or shine, you'll fine me trudging around pushing my good ol' Maclaren.

I love my daughter, I really do. But it's that time of year when I'm thinking about trips for the upcoming year and I'm seriously considering taking a vacation... without her. Of course, we'll take a trip or two as a family, but I've already started secretly budgeting for a 3rd trip just for myself.

Is that horribly selfish? I can't decide.

I've been justifying it to myself by saying, "Even moms need to take some time away to relax and rejuvenate. I'll come back to her well-rested and refreshed and I'll be a better mom because of it."
