I always make New Year's resolutions, but they're not always serious. Okay, and the truth is, I'm not always that serious about keeping them either. But this year is different. When the clock struck midnight on 1/1/11 I said I would save more money in 2011 and I'm determined to stick to it.
As you can imagine, shopping the Web all day presents an awful lot of temptation to spend. From sample sales and group coupons to 70% off sales and deals, I can only restrain myself so much. So to help keep my spending in check and achieve my savings goal, I've decided not to pay full price this year--for anything.
Over the holidays, I was out with my dad and I commented on how amazing some of the deals were. He insightfully pointed out, "if stores can afford to mark this stuff down 75%, then how much was it marked up to begin with?" Good point, right?
