After college there is a dramatic turning point in our lives. It's the moment you decide whether you stay in the comfort of the town you know or pack your bags and start a new life. For many 20-somethings moving around is necessary when trying to find a full-time position. Unfortunately, moving to a new city without any of the people you know can be lonely at first.

Here are some tips to help you meet some new people and make new friends when you move to a new city.

1. Talk to People at Work - The number one place to meet people is through your new job whether it's in an office or restaurant. Just be friendly and talk to people. Sometimes it's intimidating because people already have built friendships, but ask them to grab some drinks after work and if they ask you to go out with them, always accept! The people you meet through work will be the fastest and easiest friendships to establish.

The advent of social media can be seen as both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it's that much easier to remember a loved one's birthday, and a curse in that we've created unhealthy communication patterns.

Our generation has programmed ourselves into believing that being in constant communication is normal, and if we lack this then something must be wrong. Ask the bride what she wants - Make sure you know what the bride wants to do on her special night.
