Does anyone else think hairstyles have gotten ... boring over the years? Everywhere I look, I see girls sporting Kim Kardashian waves, or Jennifer Aniston's pin straight hair. Even after this bob trend hit Hollywood hard, nothing really changed. I still see a ton of waves and straight looks ... only shorter. Zzzz.
Personally, I never understood this obsession with looking like a beach bum. I've always loved these vintage hairstyles better, so I get really excited when I see celebs try retro looks, like Katy Perry did at the VMA's last year. I'll confess, I even went through my own Betty Page phase in my late teens -- self-cut bangs and all. (Wondering what era you were meant to be born in? Take this quiz to find out.)
While I would love to go back in time to see these hairstyles in action, no genius has been able to invent a time machine … yet. But you can bring the retro to the present with these how-tos. They're super easy to follow. The only hard part? Not standing out in a crowd

Before you write off "The Hunger Games" as another teenage phenom, trust me when I say this film is nothing like the "Twilight" series. The heart-pounding action in this new series makes blood-sucking vampires look tame in comparison.Read More »from Behind the Scenes: Hair Secrets from "The Hunger Games"
I would know -- I'm pretty much the biggest fan out there. I've re-read all of the books and watched every trailer they've released so far, like, 15 times, among other slightly stalkerish things. So when I got the chance to talk to Joico stylist and one of the hairstylists for the film, Cherry Petenbrink, I was beyond excited to find out even more about the film.

Turns out, Petenbrink helped create the 700 colorful wigs and hairpieces used in the movie. She was able to give me the dirt on what happens behind the scenes during filming, including the outrageous amounts of hair dye used on all of the characters of The Capitol. (For those not in the know, The Capitol is where all of the rich and powerful
I'm a fan of underwear. I actually prefer the classic bikini cut (which makes me a "classy athlete" according to this underwear decoder.) But a couple of years ago, it seemed like it was an anomaly to wear any panties. Britney, Lindsay, Paris, Christina … their hoo-ha's were all over the web. Granted some of those ladies aren't the classiest, but seriously, slip on a pair if you're climbing out of a low limo.
Now, while I do love the comfort of my undies, not all my friends agree. Granted, many are forced to go commando during laundry day, but some just like the feel of it. "If you're wearing really soft leggings (or other soft clothes), why do you even need to wear it?" said one girlfriend. I could think of a few very good reasons. "Besides, I hate panty lines," she said. Hmmm. I also hate panty lines, but I'm still not ready to give up on cotton comfort.

A few weeks ago, I received the most important phone call of my post-college life. I officially got my first "real" job. Finally! I felt beyond amazing … until that giddy excitement faded into some minor anxiety.
Besides worrying about screwing up on the first day, I had another concern. What should I wear? I had my interview look down -- check it out here -- but now I needed a whole wardrobe that was "work appropriate." Luckily, I have a pretty cool (but brutally honest) boss, who had no problem telling me what she thought of my outfits.

Day 1: Suit Up
Today's my first day and I'm really nervous. I want my boss to know I'm taking this job seriously, so I decide on a professional look. The second I walk through the door, my face turns bright red. From what I can see, the dress code in the office is definitelyRead More »from Ever Wonder What Your Boss Thinks of Your Clothes? We Find Out
When I think of really dirty hair, the first thing that comes to mind is ... camping. You're stuck in the middle of nowhere without any bathrooms or showers which means you've got dirty, smelly hair that hasn't been washed in days. Sounds like an embarrassing story waiting to unfold, like one of these beauty/fashion malfunctions.Read More »from 7 Hairstyles That'll Make You Love Dirty Hair

Most girls would be miserable and want desperately to go home and take a shower. But I've got a secret: This is the reason why I love camping. It gives me an excuse to try out these "dirty hair" hairstyles. In case you didn't know, dirty hair is able to hold a style much better and longer than when it's clean. Pretty convenient when you're camping with your best friend's super hot brother you've had a crush on for years.

I love that my boyfriend "surprises" me with a dozen red roses and a nice gift (he's a keeper -- I once received one of these worst Valentine's Day gifts ever.) I love that I get to indulge in chocolate guilt-free all day long. And I love dressing up.
This year, I hit the jackpot of inspired outfit ideas with this photo gallery of fashion bloggers' Valentine's Day looks. Something like this is perfect if you've got a date lined up, and this dress will score you all kinds of compliments if you're going out with the girls. Planning to hit the couch and re-watch "The Bachelor" episodes you've got stashed on your DVR (and yes, that was me just a couple years ago)? This great lounge-around outfit will make you feel cute.

OK, I'll admit it. I give people crap for wearing scrunchies (who else thinks they're completely ridiculous-looking?!). But now I've got a little '90s confession of my own:Read More »from What Old-School Accessory Do You Still Use?
I'm obsessed with mood rings.
All of my friends make fun of me, and I know what they're getting at. Who wears a mood ring as a 20-something year old? But I can't help it -- I love it. I got my first one back in 1995, and it's been one of my favorite accessories since then -- even out of this bunch. Every time it wears out, I go and buy a new one, which isn't too easy since they hit their peek over 10 years ago. My current ring is fun, oversized, and never the same color. It's like having multiple accessories in one. What more could a girl ask for?

Do you know what it's like to look in the mirror and hate what you see? I do. I have cystic acne, which means my face is covered in painful pimples and inflamed cysts. Unfortunately, mirrors are everywhere. You can't avoid them. So every morning, when my bathroom mirror greets me, it takes all my willpower not to cancel my plans and crawl back into bed.

I've felt this way for as long as I can remember. In high school, nobody understood what it was like having bad acne. All of my girlfriends had clear skin, so it pissed me off when they whined about one tiny zit. Seriously?! Look. At. My. Face. You have
I'll never forget last year's Valentine's Day gift exchange with my boyfriend. I gave him his gift first -- a subscription to a beer of the month club -- and he loved it (of course). Then it was my turn. When I opened the box, I found a frilly pink lingerie outfit with a bottom that was two sizes too small and a top that was a cup size too big (click here to find out if you're wearing the wrong bra size).
I was mortified. When he asked if I liked it, I forced a smile and said, "Yes ... it's very ... romantic." I know he didn't mean to hurt my feelings, but in all honesty, I took it as a hint that I should ditch my usual cotton panties -- not to mention the sizing issues had me feeling a little, um, fat. I mean, I wanted to get him a nose hair trimmer after reading these guys' weird grooming habits, but at least I knew that wouldn't be right for V-day.Related link: What Your Undies Say About You
