The other day, I was playing the "favorite" game with my coworker, Jane. She quickly fired off her favorite movie ("13 Going on 30"), her favorite book ("Little Women"), and her favorite word (lackadaisical). But when it came to her favorite shoes? Well, that took a lot longer.

It wasn't because Jane doesn't care about shoes (she gets Zappos deliveries daily), but she had too many to choose from. Heels, flats, boots -- you name it, Jane has it. But she could only pick ONE pair (that's the rule!). Eventually, she settled on her black sparkly Toms because they "go with anything" and "they're super comfortable."

It's about to get real up in here: I love popping pimples. There's nothing better than squeezing a zit and seeing all that white gunk come out. The best part? When it squirts and hits the mirror. TMI? Sorry.Read More »from Poll: Do You Secretly Love Popping Pimples?

I even pop my boyfriend's pimples for him (which he hates). I can't help it, it's so addicting. And he does this, which I think is way nastier. Besides, I would rather have my (and his) skin red and smooth, instead of covered in huge, white, pus-filled bumps.

I know I shouldn't do it. It's the number one skin sin -- I get it. But, out of all of these tips to stay zit-free, the "hands off" policy is the only one I can't keep. But to be fair, it is possible to pop a pimple the right way. Just watch this video. Warning: it's pretty gross.
Now, I KNOW I'm not alone. So tell me: Do you get pleasure out of popping pimples? Even if you're not a compulsive pimple popper, do you do it?

I'm currently whitening my teeth. Right now. As I type this, I have Crest 3D White Whitestrips plastered to my chompers. Now, I've used whitestrips before, but this kit is marketed as "intensive," meaning I wear these strips two hours a day for seven days. And though I have noticed a huge difference (even after one day), there's a downside to this beauty treatment: It hurts.
It doesn't hurt in that sensitive gum way, but rather a full tooth hurt that leaves me scrambling for Ibuprofen at night. BUT, I continue to use the whitestrips everyday, because I want dazzling white teeth … and isn't beauty supposed to hurt a little? Plus, it's definitely not as gross or harmful as these beauty treatments from the past (animal fat for hair growth? Ick). For me the pain is worth the results.
Now, I don't know if I would say that about other beauty treatments -- especially not this one -- but there are more than a few that areRead More »from Which Beauty Treatments Are Totally Worth the Pain?

I know it's only January, but I'm calling it: 2012 is the year of the bob. Have you seen how many celebs have chopped off their hair this month? Click here to see what I'm talking about. And since all of Hollywood is obsessed with this trend, it's only a matter of time before everyone else jumps on the bob train too. Case in point: two of my closest girlfriends just went to the salon with a picture of this celebrity as inspiration.Read More »from What's the "It" Hairstyle of 2012?
I've also noticed something else. The bob appears to be the hairstyle for anyone named Olivia. (Stay with me.) First Olivia Palermo, then Olivia Munn, and now Olivia Wilde? I'll be honest -- I always thought this Olivia had the best bob, but then this Olivia totally took the title of "Best Olivia Bob." Sorry, other Olivias.
Luckily, non-Olivias can also get amazing bobs. In case you're thinking of going for the cut, check out the different bob looks below. Or click here for a gallery of 30 more ways to style your bob.
No. 6: Tousle it up for a romantic
We're always on the lookout for the latest trends, especially when they come from the ground up -- not from the designers or the glossy mags, but from real women. This involves hours searching the Internet, looking through hundreds of photos, videos, and tutorials. And we do find a lot of great stuff (just check out these amazing denim looks) … as well as a lot of really weird stuff, like these makeup photos.
How weird are we talking? Think orange-hued skin, neon eyeshadow, Sharpie eyebrows (seriously!). Believe me, these ladies give these stars a run for their money for worst makeup ever (click here to see the celeb list). But you have to give them points for being, uh, we'll go with creative. And we kinda admire how brave they are. After all, embarrassing photos on the web never go away. EVER.

Admit it, we all have our beauty secrets. Mine? A Caboodle -- you know, those plastic makeup carriers that were popular in late '90s? I usually keep it hidden under my bathroom sink, since a Caboodle officially becomes socially unacceptable at age 13. But then the staff decided to try out these trendy DIY nail designs in our office, so I had to bring mine to work. Big mistake. My co-workers started cracking up. "O. M. G. You would still use a Caboodle!" My cheeks were burning. Good thing they don't know about my Bumpit (click here for more wacky hair tools I used to be obsessed with).
Once they were done poking fun at my glittery little box, they admitted I wasn't the only one still clinging to her favorite teeny-bopper beauty product. Jane whipped out her Bonne Bell Lip Smackers Lip Gloss and Alexis admitted she still uses a Topsy Tail ... sometimes.

I rarely wear makeup on the weekends. Call me lazy, but I can't seem to justify losing sleep on a Saturday to "put on" my face. (Sidebar: does anyone actually say that?) So I'll roll out of bed, splash water on my face, and go for that youthful(ish), natural look.Read More »from 4 Makeup Looks to Try This Weekend

But the second I leave the house and take a look around I instantly regret it. Not a dark circle, blemish, or unpainted eye in sight … and that fresh face I was going for, just looks like I didn't try at all. (Which, admittedly, I didn't.) My current solution: wearing these huge face-covering shades all day.

This happens to me all the time, and since sunglasses indoors are pretty lame, I need a better option. For help, I asked our Facebook readers if they wear makeup on the weekends, and if so, when? They gave me a ton of responses (see them all here). Based on their top four reasons to wear makeup, I put together these looks. Surprisingly,
The truth: I'm scared of my curling iron. I can't even count the number of times I've burnt myself, fried my hair, or just spent hours curling only to come out with a lame-o hairstyle (kind of like these celeb hairstyle disasters). Thus, my curling iron is regulated to the back of my linen closet, and my slightly wavy hair has become a mainstay.
That is, until I spent the afternoon with celebrity hairstylist Amita Moticka, Director of Cutting Education for diPietro Todd Salons and Academy. I confessed my inability to use one of the basic hairstyling tools and Moticka put my fears to ease and tackled some of the biggest curling iron disasters. You can view the entire list here, or scroll down for a few tips.
Disaster No. 1: My hair can't hold a curl.
Solution: It's all about prepping the hair. After all, your hair is about to endure a ton of heat. Just remember: never curl your hair when it's wet or even slightly damp, becauseRead More »from Curling Iron Disasters -- Solved!
Do you wear glasses? (I'm guessing the answer is yes, since you're reading this.) If so, the number one mistake you're probably making is not wearing the right eye makeup or skipping your eye makeup routine all together.Read More »from Surprising Makeup Tips for Glasses-Wearing Gals
I would know. I got my slim black frames seven years ago, and for a while I thought that I could get away with just wearing minimal eye makeup -- or, um, none at all. But it wasn't until I saw how much this celeb's eyes stood out from under her glasses that I started re-thinking my strategy.
Now, instead of hiding behind my glasses, I follow these dos and don'ts for girls who wear glasses:
While you're applying your makeup, take your glasses on and off. "You don't want to wait until the end, then put on your glasses and find out you can't see any of your makeup," says makeup artist Rebecca Prior. She suggests even trying on your glasses after every coat of mascara, just to see how each coat looks when you add those lenses.
