I have to admit, tattoos kinda make my skin crawl. Keep in mind I'm usually gung-ho about beauty trends, even the really bad ones, like these, but tattoos seem so permanent. So, when I heard the term "hair tattoos," I was a little intrigued and a lot confused. Luckily, it's not as bad as bad as it sounds, or as enduring as a real tattoo. (Now, if you already have a real tattoo and are wondering what it says about you, check out this article.)
Elly Torres, Master Stylist at ULTA, introduced this idea of hair tattooing to us a few weeks ago. She calls it a "fun, simple trick," and all you need is a mini-crimper. And don't freak about the crimper. At least we're not using the Flowbee or any other of these weird hair tools.
First, take a random section of hair and place a diagonal crimp onto the section. Then, take the crimper and place another diagonal crimp on the same section, but going the opposite direction. It should create a grid like pattern. You can either wear one in your hair

Do you know what's about to take place in just a few days? The Spring 2012 Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week! In case you can't tell, we're pretty psyched. Mostly to get the backstage scoop on upcoming hair, makeup, and nail trends -- but we may also try to sneak in to a show a la Piper Weiss.
In preparation for the big event, we decided to reminisce about last season's fashion week. Here are some of the craziest things that happened:
1. The models that walked in Alexander Wang's show actually had clay mixed into their hair and eyebrows, while Gary Graham's models were sent down the runway in a look called "melancholy Cleopatra," a.k.a. thick, black eyeliner that covered the entire lid. No joke.
2. Leighton Messer came to Michael Kors' show looking like she just rolled out of bed. Aren't celebs supposed to get dressed up for these things? At least Leighton's "Gossip Girl" co-star Blake Lively looked the part.
3. Using a soft eye shadow brush at theRead More »from The Craziest Things We Saw at Last Fashion Week

Did you ever watch "The September Issue?" It followed the creation of Vogue's famous fall fashion issue, including the lavish fashion shoots, with priceless dresses, strange props, unrealistic settings, and size 00 models. For our Ultimate Fall Trends Guide, we decided to do … the exact opposite of that.
First, we interviewed hair, makeup, and fashion experts about the latest fashion trends. Then, we went to (get this) the mall and pulled clothes you can actually afford. As for models, we turned to the hard-working women in our office. And ridiculous props? Forget it; we have tons of cute accessories that are way better.

When it came to acne, I lucked out. I had Noxzema-commercial clear skin as a teen. I didn't even follow these crucial skin tips, which I really should have. My brother, on the other hand, was not so fortunate. His high school years were spent at dermatologist appointments, slathered in prescription creams, and eventually undergoing bi-monthly blood tests when he took Accutane -- twice! Today, I'm happy to report that he's acne free and scar free, albeit extremely paranoid about any tiny blemish. (If you weren't so lucky in the scar department, check out this guide on acne scar treatment.)
Then, I turned 24 -- and I got my first zit. Or rather, zits, plural. Suddenly, I had terrible skin; breakouts along my mouth, chin, and cheeks. It never occurred to me you could get adult acne, seems like a cruel joke. It took months of trial and error, but finally this life-saving advice helped me reduce my breakouts. Thank god.
I know I'm not the only one with a "first zit" story.Read More »from How Old Were You When You Got Your First Zit?

Newsflash: My hair doesn't grow -- at all. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration. It grows maybe an inch every year. But for a girl obsessed with long, gorgeous hair like this newlywed celebrity's, one inch per year is like watching paint dry. Only worse.
So seeing these 17 gorgeous, long hairstyles that I couldn't do on my own hair was such a tease -- especially when they came with such easy step-by-step tutorials. That is, until the day I discovered hair extensions. It was like getting the one thing you've wished for since you were a little girl. You could say it was a life-changing moment for me. (If you're thinking about extensions, click here to read all about them -- pros and cons.)
With my new (fake) long hair, I was able to try out a few really crazy hairstyles like these. And once I got a handle on them and started looking for some celebrity inspiration to try out, I was amazed by what I found. Aren't these the most beautiful long hairstyles you've ever seen? The MTV VMA's were last night, and we were eyeing the red -- er, black carpet for the best makeup looks. Of course, we were also watching the fashion as well, since crazy get-ups are practically guaranteed at the VMA's. (We even put together our own gallery of nearly-naked VMA celebs.)
But when it came to the makeup, let's just say there was a lot to choose from … Jessie J.'s deep plum lips, Demi Lovato's dewy glow (Beyoncé also had a certain glow, but not from her makeup!), Kim Kardashian's smoky eye. But our top two favorite makeup looks of the night belonged to Selena Gomez and Katy Perry. While they were at opposite ends of the spectrum (Selena went classic, while Katy went colorful), both looked amazing.
While we were a little confused by Selena Gomez's lacy half-gown, half mini-dress (you can see that here), her makeup was a completely different story. She looked beautiful with her classic makeup look. As her makeup artist,Read More »from Our Favorite VMA Makeup Looks
I am not crafty. I am, however, cheap. So when I saw these DIY accessories -- and how I could look ridiculously cute without spending more than $10 tops -- I was willing to make the effort.
Thankfully, with step-by-step directions, even a major klutz like me was able to follow along and end up with something gorgeous. Cue multiple compliments from co-workers and a new respect for the Michaels and Hobby Lobby devotees out there.
Intrigued? Check out the full accessories line-up here, or see a few of my favorites in the gallery below. You can make them, wear them, and land that perfect combo of unique style and fall trend following. Some advice: Don't wear them all at once, or you'll end up on this fashion disasters list.

It's happened to me a few times. There was the week I let my boyfriend dress me every morning -- I had to re-think my whole style philosophy after he put together these cute outfits (well, with the exception of a few). Then , I discovered these 10 different ways to wear a white T-shirt. Let's just say I'll never look at a plain white tee in the same way again.
Well, I've got something else to add to my list of conversions. After participating -- rather unwillingly -- in this nail art challenge, I've become a huge advocate of nail art. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who used to be majorly anti-nail art (I just thought it was so tacky and silly.) So, this is a pretty big deal.
If you're curious to see how the challenge went, read my entire diary of the dare here. I've also got how-tos for every single look so you can try them for yourself. And after you've checked out all the
One constant debate among my girlfriends is whether you should ever get a tattoo for a significant other. I am a very vocal resident of the "no" camp, especially after coming thisclose to inking myself in honor of my now (evil) ex-boyfriend. (Though I thought this tattoo analysis was fascinating, considering my non-love ink.)
While I believe it's the ultimate bad luck relationship charm, some of my other girlfriends argue that it's the ultimate act of love. So, in honor of all types of love tattoos, I thought we'd take a quick look at some very famous celeb examples. And if you want more, we have a whole gallery of celeb tattoos right here.
Tom Arnold didn't just get one Roseanne tattoo during their short-lived marriage; he got four. Besides this chest tattoo, he had "Rosey" tattooed on his butt cheek (gross), along with two others. Roseanne returned the romantic gesture by inking "Property of Tom Arnold" on her thigh. Luckily,Read More »from Tattoos of Love: Yay or Nay?
