Fashion and music often go hand in hand, so we particularly love music videos with a heavy style influence. We've rounded up our favorite inspirational, influential, glamorous, and fun music videos from the past few decades. MTV may air more episodes of "Teen Mom" and "Jersey Shore" than music videos these days, but here are 12 reasons why this creative art form should never die. Kimbra, we want your hair. Photo courtesy of Warner Bros. You may recognize Kimbra from Gotye's smash hit "Somebody That I Used to Know," but the New Zealand beauty's solo material is equally catchy and creative so it's only a matter of days before she blows up. As much as we enjoy her songs (seriously, download "Settle Down" and "Warrior" right now) we're perhaps even more obsessed with her slightly imperfect long bob. We caught up with celebrity stylist Kylee Heath who told us how to get the look.
The cut
Ask your stylist for a collarbone-length bob and tell them you're looking for a square shape with bangs that fall just above the top of your eyebrows. You want the bangs to have that boxy square shape too. Heath suggests getting layers cut to give your hair body and movement.
Hair prep
Heath recommends starting the process in the shower with volumizing shampoo that won't weight hair down. You can also apply a volumizing mousse to the roots of damp hair. "I would then spray a product like Fekkai Beach Waves Spray, lightly, from roots toHit List: Jessie J's Striped Jeans

Read More »from Hit List: Jessie J's Striped JeansWe're swooning over Jessie J's new striped denim. Photo by Getty ImagesPatterned denim is a huge trend this year, and we've seen legs adorned with everything from animal prints to floral designs. But we fell in love with the striped jeans English singer Jessie J wore to BBC Radio's Hackney Weekend. The contrasting black and white vertical stripes are not just eye-catching-they really elongate her legs! The "Domino" songstress paired her bold denim with other neutrals like a white jean jacket and studded black boots, while her coral and black cropped tank injected the right balance of color into the look.
It may seem like a wild look for every day, but styled correctly striped jeans can work, and Jessie J's exact pair is fairly affordable. The Jordan Stripe Jeans by Motel are sold at Urban Outfitters for $90 and select sizes are on sale for $56 at Asos.com. (They're also available in pink and white stripes or purple and white stripes for $39.77 each on Asos.com.) If you're feeling timid about the trend, you could try Rag & Bone's tuxedo jeans ($100) orBeyoncé’s 10 Best Looks: From Low-key Cool to Red Carpet Glam

Find it Fridays: Tribal High-Low Dress
By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor | Fashion – Fri, Jun 29, 2012 11:15 AM EDTHello, and welcome back to Find it Fridays! My latest challenge for Shine's weekly fashion scavenger hunt came from a reader named Megan. Here is her request:
"I am dying to try the hi-low dress trend, but am having a tough time finding one that flatters my skin tone. I love the bohemian vibe tribal prints give, but most dresses I've seen are in an orange-y shade, which is not good for a redhead. I'm 5' 6'' and a size 4, and I'm trying to keep it under $50. If you can help me find a dress, I'd be ecstatic! Thank you."
This is a girl who knows what she wants! Megan, I found a variety of cool tribal, edgy, boho printed hi-low dresses in colors that would complement your red hair and fair skin and stayed within your budget. Please let me know if you like these choices. Readers: please weigh in on which one you think Janice should pick! Do you have any additional tips on where she can find what she's looking for? Let her know in the comments.
