It seems Britney's frequent trips to the gym and the recording studio have been paying off-several newspapers and tabloids are claiming Britney is "back." We've long had our fingers crossed for the princess of pop to reclaim her throne, and with a controversial new movie role and another album out this year Brit seems to be headed in the right direction.**
First up, we heard a rumor that director Quentin Tarantino had handpicked the 26-year-old to portray Varla, a lesbian dancer/murderer in a remake of the 1965 cult film Faster p----cat! Kill! Kill! "Quentin is convinced Britney will be brilliant," an insider told UK's Telegraph. "She's delighted. She thinks it could turn her career around." Well, the gossip turned out to be false, but hey! At least I'm not the only one with my fingers crossed for a Britney comeback! Now for the actual good news: Britney's been hard at work with superstar producers Kanye West and Pharrell Williams on her comeback album, which is slated for a

We're typically inclined to make fun of Paris for her stereotypically ditzy comments, but we have to give props when they're due. Last week John McCain's unsolicited use of the heiress in an ad condemning Barack Obama for being a celebrity (like Paris) was the topic of much discussion. Both Paris Hilton's mother and grandfather voiced their disgruntled opinions, despite the fact that McCain is a candidate they both support and have contributed money to. Paris herself made no comment… until now.Read More »from OMG! Paris Hilton actually impresses us with her rebuttal ad to McCain
In her rebuttal ad, Ms. Hilton suggests a national energy plan and compares McCain, "that wrinkly white-haired guy," to Colonel Sanders, Yoda and the zombie who hosts Tales from the Crypt. Sure, the script was probably written for her, but for once we're laughing with Paris, not at her.
Check her rebuttal here. What do you think of Paris' comeback? [Funny or Die]
Dueling hot dudes we can hardly tell apart. Tell us which actor you like better and why... or if you could care less whether either one exists.
David Livingston/Getty ImagesWe know what you're thinking: she's totally rich and blessed that her producer daddy, Aaron Spelling, hooked her up with an acting career as Donna Martin on 90210. But even given every privilege, poor Tori Spelling still can't catch a break! First of all, her mom, Candy, wedged her way between Tori and her father and after he died she kept Tori from getting his $500 million estate so Tori had to sell her stuff on eBay. If anyone ever caught her semi-biographical sitcom, So NoTORIous (which was kind of hilarious, by the way), you could tangibly feel the hurt her satirical mom brought on. Awww.Read More »from Why we feel bad for Tori Spelling
What else sucks about being Tori Spelling? No one cares about your projects (see: So NoTORIOUS). Did you even know she has a new show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood (the season finale is August 12) on Oxygen? (It's actually her third season with a rotating title-the network, it's been said, is desperate for content.) The poor thing made her husband dress up as the other half of celebrity

If you're like us, you grew up watching Mr. Rogers (RIP) change his shoes and sweaters twice a day, followed the trolley to the Neighborhood of Make Believe and enjoyed informational video clips on things like how crayons are made. You also will be devastated at the news that PBS has decided to cut Mister Rogers' Neighborhood from its weekday syndication after 40 years (it will now air only once a week). We're not just nostalgic-who else could possibly be better at explaining feelings and sharing to our own children than dear old Fred Rogers? We urge you to head over to SaveMisterRogers.com, created by Brian Linder who feels the program "is still such a special nurturing voice in the lives of children." We couldn't agree more. Hopefully come September PBS will reconsider their lineup.Read More »from PBS is ditching Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood after 40 years

Mark Mainz/Getty ImagesAnderson Cooper subbed in for Regis Philbin on Live with Regis & Kelly and used this opportunity to discuss his guilty pleasures: reality TV. Not only were we shocked (and delighted) that Cooper watches the shows, but we were equally impressed that he's perfectly nailed the nuances of why Living Lohan is such an "atrocious… trainwreck." His impressions are equally on point.

"Poor little Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan," said Dolly to her audience at the Greek Theater. "Ain't it awful? If those little girls slept with as many men as they say in the tabloids, why their little butts would have more fingerprints than the FBI! I kinda feel sorry for them. We should give those two a break"
Do you think people should cut these girls more slack? [People]

Amy Sussman/Getty ImagesIn the ongoing federal investigation into Heath Ledger's drug overdose pretty much anyone you think of has been interviewed: the mother of his baby, actress Michelle Williams, his doctors. Bodyguards, housekeepers, business associates, even the masseuse who discovered his body. The one person who isn't willing to cooperate? Mary-Kate Olson. She's the first person who the masseuse called when she saw something was wrong, and instead of phoning 911, Mary-Kate rang up her personal bodyguards and sent them to Ledger's New York apartment.Read More »from Was Mary-Kate involved in Heath Ledger’s overdose?
Mary-Kate and Ledger had something of a secret friendship, and people wonder if the once-rehabbed Full House twin has something to do with the pills he overdosed on but wasn't prescribed. This week Mary-Kate has requested immunity from prosecution before cooperating, but if she refuses to answer they could potentially obtain a subpoena.
"Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not
