    • Barack Obama rocks out to better music than you

When the Democratic presidential contender told Rolling Stone, "I have pretty eclectic tastes," what Barack Obama should have said was, "You wish you had my iPod." The Illinois senator's iTunes playlist is full of hits and very few misses. A few of Barack's standbys:

      1. The best music of his time: The 70s - Barack listens to the Rolling Stones (Gimme Shelter is his favorite of their repertoire), Elton John and Earth, Wind & Fire. Stevie Wonder is his musical hero from the era.

      2. Bob Dylan - "Blood on the Tracks" has a special place in his heart. "Actually, one of my favorites during the political season is 'Maggie's Farm,' " says Obama. "It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric."

      3. Jazz - Barack hearts legends Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker.

      4. The Boss - "Not only do I love Bruce's music, but I just love him as a person," Obama said. "He is a guy who has never lost track of his roots, who knows who he is, who has never put on a front."

    • Broadway gets creepy, kooky… and that much better

As a (current) New Yorker, I'm thrilled to see this new wave of interest in Broadway, even if some of the musicals are less than captivating to me (i.e. Legally Blonde). It's so cool to see loads of new ideas and young stars making their way to the theater district. The latest additions: Aubrey O'Day of Diddy's multi-platinum reality-made girl group Danity Kane is Hairspray bound-she'll be playing Amber Von Tussle from July 18 till the end of August. More exciting is news of a musical adaptation of the Addams Family, due to open in 2009. Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth (she starred in Chicago on Broadway) has signed on to play Morticia. Nathan Lane has been offered the role of Gomez. Fingers crossed on that one! [Perez][NY Post]

    • Kim Kardashian: diva in training?

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty ImagesPascal Le Segretain/Getty ImagesThough Kim has seemed comfortable with her role as a D-list celebrity, it appears Ms. Kardashian is getting too big for her britches. You may have heard about her cutting a long line at Starbucks earlier this month, claiming "she had to get in and out quickly because there were photographers waiting outside to take her picture and she needed to rush back out." Now she made the crowd at the Monte Carlo Television Festival wait two full hours while she whined and freaked out in her dressing room.

"Kim was so upset when her stylist forgot fake eyelashes, she refused to leave her dressing room," says an insider. "Kim wouldn't come out until her stylist tracked down the exact lashes she wanted." Doesn't she realize people are too distracted by her other, um, asset, to even notice her eyes? Kim, stick to your reality show and leave the diva behavior for those a little more deserving. [Star]

    • Best Waste of Your Time Video of the Day: Chuck E. Cheese band plays “Love in this Club”

Back in the day, we had birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese. We played ski ball, ate pizza and cake... but the puppet band only had boring songs like "Pop Goes the Weasel" and "B-I-N-G-O" in it's repertoire. The times they are a-changin'.

    • Models and Musicians: another match made in heaven

The model/musician couple has been a tumultuous yet passionate pairing for decades. There's a fine line though where many of these uber hip, hot couples take the partying too far. The latest M&M combo we're feeling: British model Agyness Deyn (Check the new Burberry campaign) and The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Agyness sings the song "Who" for the Five O'Clock Heroes and is clearly engulfed in his scene as he is in hers. Albert brought her as his date to the Songwriters Hall of Fame where the couple posed together and smooched on the red carpet, and once in the event they smoothly handles press together, even when reporters inquired about their relationship. When asked how they met, like a pro, Agyness replied, "That's a bit personal, sorry." Wow, how dignified and respectable! We're pulling for these two. [NY Mag]

    • Quote of the Day: Brooke Hogan thinks her mom is totally effed

Logan Fazio/Getty ImagesLogan Fazio/Getty ImagesHulk Hogan's daughter Brooke has proven to be far and above the most sensible one in the family. The star of VH1's new series, Brooke Knows Best, has in fact cut off contact with her cougar mom after she began dating her former classmate who's 19.

"Honestly, I don't know what to say because I can't relate to her right now," says Brooke. "I'm extremely shocked. I know if I was 48-years-old, I wouldn't date a 19-year-old. I just don't feel it's her. And through all this stuff, I really need my mom, and she's doing her own thing. I don't talk to her anymore. I see her at the jail visiting Nick and she asks me why. I say, 'I don't condone what you're doing. I'm on my path, and you're on your path.' I told her, 'I'd love to have you in my life, to see you and talk to you, but the kind of things you're surrounding yourself with, it doesn't make sense to me."

We feel for Brooke. It's tough when you have to assume the role of parent to your own mom! [Perez]

    • Just when you thought they’d disappeared, Steven Tyler busts out the crocs

You know what's a crock? When lead singers of "rock and roll" bands (ie: Aerosmith's Steven Tyler) get old and out of touch and start wearing gardening shoes when strutting around the streets of New York. In fact, it's horrible. Make it stop. [D-Listed]

    • Anne Hathaway gets smart: breaks up with loser boyfriend just in time

Evan Agostini/Getty ImagesEvan Agostini/Getty ImagesPoor Anne Hathaway has been moping around after breaking up with longterm boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, an Italian businessman whom trouble seems to follow. BUT. Don't you just love that self-validation when you're reminded you did the right thing? Turns out Anne dumped the dude just in time! Follieri has been arrested in NYC and charged with wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering. He is accused of falsely telling an investor that he had been appointed as the chief financial officer of the Vatican, which allowed him and his nasty cohorts to obtain properties of the Catholic church in the United States at a huge discount. So sketchy!

Good riddance. On to bigger and better. [Perez]

    • Jason Bateman: proving celebs are responsible one man at a time

Dave M. Benett/Getty Images Dave M. Benett/Getty ImagesWith Amy WInehouse spiraling out of control, Tatum O'Neal buying crack, every Joe Schmoe in Hollywood getting a DUI and TV shows like Celebrity Rehab as the norm, we were beginning to wonder if any star was capable of being responsible with substances. Adorable Jason Batemen is just that… and he didn't even need an intervention!

"I've spent all my fun chips and now I've parked my drinking boots in the closet," says Bateman. "I haven't had a drink in four years. There wasn't any real specific bottom to it. I was just ready to graduate from adolescence and try my hand at being an adult. And, quite honestly, the woman I was in love with was not really that tolerant of it, so I turned it off."

Do you think celebrities have bigger issues with drugs and alcohol than us "normal" people? [Perez]
