Designer shoes, like these Manolo Blahniks, are skyrocketing in price. Photo courtesy of Neiman MarcusDesigner shoes, like these Manolo Blahniks, are skyrocketing in price. Photo courtesy of Neiman MarcusIf you thought designer stilettos were getting treacherously high, you should see their current prices. Women's Wear Daily dug into this unsettling retail phenomenon by examining the shoe closet of Carrie Bradshaw, the ultimate high heel junkie. In an episode of "Sex and the City" called "A Right to Shoes," the protagonist mourns the loss of her $485 silver Manolo Blahniks (pictured at left) after they're stolen at a house party. We remember watching the episode back in 2003 thinking, good God, that is a LOT of money to spend on one pair of heels. And we weren't alone, because this was the focal point of the TV episode.

Fast forward nearly a decade later and the same pair of Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby Silver Bejeweled Pumps is selling for $755--almost $300 more than Bradshaw's pair. And this is not just regular inflation. We couldn't find a single pair of Manolos under $495 and these beaded snakeskin sandals selling for $1,995.

As the consumer, it's depressing and hard to understand why

    • Hitler Shampoo Commercial for Turkish Biomen Sparks Outrage

This image of Adolf Hitler appears in a new Biomen shampoo commercial. This image of Adolf Hitler appears in a new Biomen shampoo commercial. An new men's shampoo commercial featuring video footage of Adolf Hitler has gone viral and many say including the Nazi leader in the ad is extremely offensive. According to theAFP, the Anti-Defamation League have already filed formal complaints.

The commercial is for a Turkish product called Biomen, and uses video footage of Hitler with a voiceover. "If you are not wearing a woman's dress, you should not use her shampoo either," Hitler appears to say in the ad. "Here it is, a real mens' shampoo, Biomen."The commercial has been running in Turkey for about a week.

We have a feeling the marketing people behind Biomen deliberately wanted to shock people with the controversial ad. While they certainly have gotten people talking about their product, joking about Adolf Hitler and using him as a product spokesperson is appalling, and might be enough for some people to boycott Biomen altogether.

The Jewish Turkish community made their disapproval known through a public statement. "It's

A few weeks ago we wrote about AnnaSophia Robb portraying a young Carrie Bradshaw in the new CW prequel series "The Carrie Diaries." Today we have our first glimpse of what a teenaged Bradshaw would look like in the 1980s.

"It's a rare invitation to dress a character whose reputation truly precedes her," said costume designer Eric Daman (of "Sex and the City" and "Gossip Girl" fame) in a statement. "Having played a hand in designing for the Carrie we know and love, I am honored to be chosen to carry the torch - to illuminate the woman we know by discovering the young lady she was."

As a further note on casting, writer/executive producer Amy B. Harris said: "The search for Carrie Bradshaw was an exciting adventure. Having been a part of the "Sex and the City" series, I felt such an honor and responsibility to the fans of the show to find someone who embodied the spirit of Manhattan's favorite 'It' girl. When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her. Her grace,

    • Pippa Middleton’s McQueen Maid of Honor Dress Now Available Online

Pippa Middleton's maid of honor dress is now sold onlinePippa Middleton's maid of honor dress is now sold onlineWhile everyone loved Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress, her sister and maid of honor, Pippa Middleton, also made quite a splash in her bum-flattering white dress. In fact, we thought the cowl neck, body skimming design would make a lovely, simple wedding dress. If you had the same thought and have a budget of exactly $3,545, the dress can now be yours.

Alexander McQueen's website has just listed the Ivory Cowl Neck Crepe Floor-Length Dress, and it's quickly selling out (but still available in sizes 44 and 46 if you hurry). The gown is described as being 100% silk with rounded padded shoulders and a concealed back zipper.
We noticed the dress lacks some of the sweet finishing touches Pippa's version had, like lace edges and a long row of buttons down the back, but otherwise the dresses seem identical. Fans of the dress without imminent nuptials on the horizon can also scoop up the dress in red (just like the one Cameron Diaz wore to the 2010 Golden Globes) or black.

    • Kim Kardashian Gets Flour Bombed at Her Fragrance Launch

Kim Kardashian gets hit with a flour bomb at her fragrance launchKim Kardashian gets hit with a flour bomb at her fragrance launchThe Kim Kardashian backlash continues as the reality star gets attacked at her own event. Last night, the reality star was walking the red carpet at the launch of her new fragrance at the London Hotel in West Hollywood when an unnamed younger woman doused her with a bag full of powder. We're guessing the girl is not a fan. We're completely sick of the overexposed Kardashian family, but even we felt bad at the sight of Kim covered in powder. (Check out the lady behind her gasping in shock.) Kardashian was quickly whisked off the red carpet and returned powder free.

Kim's new fragrance is called Reflection, which we feel now takes on a new meaning. Like, we wonder if Kim took a look at herself in the mirror, covered in powder, and wondered what she's done to make people want to attack her. But perhaps she completely dismissed the incident altogether.

According to E! News, Kardashian handled the incident like a pro. "That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that ever

    • Two Thirds of Men Let Their Wives Dress Them

The majority of men need their wives to help dress themThe majority of men need their wives to help dress themLots of men could use a few style pointers, and often they rely on their female partners to help them shop for clothing. But we had no idea how many guys were completely dependent on their wives to get dressed each day. According to the Daily Mail, men's fashion website Style Pilot surveyed 1,000 full-time employed men ages 18 to 60 on their fashion habits, and the results were shocking.

Apparently two thirds of men rely on their wife or significant other to choose their work clothes for them. Half of those surveyed admitted to also being physically dressed by their partner, such as helping put on their tie. Really? We know the average guy doesn't take as much interest in his appearance as a woman, but grown men should be able to dress for work on their own... shouldn't they?

What's more surprising is 30% of men are told what to wear or have clothing purchased for them by their mother. And 17% have their wardrobe dictated by their mother-in-law! Perhaps they're just trying to avoid

Miss Piggy shares her fashion and beauty tips. Photo courtesy of DisneyMiss Piggy shares her fashion and beauty tips. Photo courtesy of Disney"The Muppets" is out today on DVD and Blu-Ray, and to celebrate we're presenting a Q&A with the world's best-dressed pig, Miss Piggy. She may be a Muppet, but she is unquestionably a style icon. Read on to learn about the glamorous custom designer outfits she wears in the film and get some unique fashion and beauty tips.

Can we talk fashion, Miss Piggy? What are you wearing today?
[Pointing at her outfit] This is called a jacket. And this is called a dress!

We know that… But is it a designer jacket and dress?
This is off the rack. However, I do have a number of very, very high-end fashion designers in my new movie, The Muppets. I was even dressed by Zac Posen for one of the scenes.

What do you think of the fashion in your new movie?
I adore the fashion of The Muppets. I had so many wonderful outfits to wear for the cameras. Thankfully, somebody looks after my wardrobe for me because I have no idea what I'm wearing at any given time - but I loved everything I wore on the set.

      What's

    • Fashion that Makes Us Sad: Wedge Sneakers

This season designers like Isabel Marant, Marc Jacobs, and Chloe decided to create sneakers with a heel--a wedge to be exact--but we think this is an epic fashion fail. First, sneakers with heels remind us way too much of Sporty Spice. (They're are so '90s in a bad way!) And second, we know some women are devoted to sky-high heels, but LET US NON-STILETTO OBSESSED LADIES HAVE OUR SNEAKERS! Sneakers are supposed to be comfortable and practical! They can also be fashionable and make a statement without a five-inch rubber sole.

We did a quick internet search for wedge sneakers and found dozens of pairs, ranging from $26 to nearly $700. Both high and low markets have now taken on the trend, and we can't stand it. Don't believe how tragically awful they are? We've rounded up the worst wedge sneakers for spring. By Joanna Douglas, Shine Staff
