Photo courtesy of Etsy.comBreastfeeding in public is a hot topic, and Etsy seller SaraStitches is ready to push it to the limit with her Boobie Beanies. These crocheted hats go on your baby's head and give the illusion of an exposed breast. And unlike one-shade-suits-all "nude" underwear, Boobie Beanies are made in a variety of skin tones to simulate your real breasts. And they're only $5!

One Boobie Beanie already just sold on Etsy today, but thankfully (?) there's another one up for grabs for mom's that thrive on shock value. Unfortunately, we are not those moms.

Read More »from Karl Lagerfeld's Most Controversial Quotes EverKarl Lagerfeld has a lot of nasty things to say. Karl Lagerfeld is the 78-year-old designer who is also the mastermind behind Chanel and Fendi. You might recognize him since he's often wearing head-to-toe black, dark sunglasses, a ponytail, and carries a fan. To say he's eccentric would be an understatement-in fact, we think he gets off saying shocking and offensive things the fashion elite will then gobble up and swoon over. But even if Lagerfeld is a fashion genius, we refuse to laugh or even shrug off his distasteful remarks, which at this point are more predictable than provocative.
Lagerfeld's latest off-the-cuff insults target Adele, the best-selling singer of 2011. While the designer understands her popularity, he told in Metro, where he recently posed as guest editor, that her physical appearance is rather unfortunate. "The thing at the moment is Adele," he told Metro. "She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice." Interesting statement coming from Lagerfeld who himself was 90 pounds heavierTarget Shoppers Resort to Unusual Methods for Jason Wu

Although the collection didn't cause quite the same frenzy as last fall's Missoni collaboration, frustrated consumers have gotten very creative in tracking down all their desired items.

Target has a strong social media presence, and the folks who run their Facebook and Twitter accounts were clearly prepared to do damage control on yet another hyped designer launch. Shoppers had one main concern: what time would the collection be available online? Just like with the Missoni launch, Target gave a vague response of "early morning," perhaps to avoid another site crash. Other customers asked about store availability and sizing information. Soon Twitter was crashing and Target searches were yielding that all-too-familiar "Oops" message. Not a good sign.

Model Has Natural 20-inch Waist
By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor | Fashion – Mon, Feb 6, 2012 1:25 PM ESTRomanian model Ioana Spangenberg says she has natural 20-inch waist. When you see her thin middle in contrast to her 32-inch hips, it's no wonder tabloids like The Sun are referring to Spangenberg as "the human hourglass." The 30-year-old clocks in around 84 pounds, and says she was average size until her teen years. "When I was 13 my waist was around 15 inches. Someone could put their hands around it, their fingers would touch and they would still have extra room," she told the Sun.

Spangenberg insists she's tried everything and cannot gain weight around her midsection. "No one seems to believe it, but every day I eat three big meals and I snack on chocolate and crisps all the time. I just have a small stomach. It's a bit like having a natural gastric band - if I eat too much, I feel sick," she told the Sun. Read More »from Fashion that Makes Us Sad: Sazzi Toe SandalsSazzi five-toe sandals are upsetting to us.Maybe I'm alone here but I really don't like things between my toes. I don't like toe socks-toes are not fingers, and there's a reason we don't wear gloves on our feet. I don't like Vibram Five Fingers shoes either-my toes want to work together when I run. So it may come as no surprise that I definitely don't like the new Sazzi Decimal Motion toe sandals (pictured at left).
The little toe strap on normal flip-flops that rests between your big and second toe can cause chafing. Am I right? It's kind of irritating! So imagine wearing sandals with straps that go between EVERY SINGLE TOE! The thought is horrifying. Also: they're pretty hideous and they cost a whopping $80. I don't care how "good" these are for your feet, I will stick with sandals that leave all 10 of my little piggies in peace.
Disagree? You can pick them up on Sazzi.com.

Crocs sells $1 billion worth of shoesHow Much Money Would it Take to Sell the Clothes Off Your Back?
By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor | Fashion – Fri, Feb 3, 2012 4:35 PM EST
Read More »from How Much Money Would it Take to Sell the Clothes Off Your Back?Would you part with your outfit on the spot if the price was right? Last night on "Project Runway All Stars" the designers had to find a muse in New York City's Central Park and bribe them for the clothing off their backs. The designer would then have to incorporate a piece of their clothing into a runway look inspired by their overall style. Creating an outfit was the easy part, but it's not easy to convince people to give away their clothes!
For the challenge, designers were offering strangers around $50 for their shirt or skirt, and gave them a big white t-shirt to change into so they wouldn't walk around naked. But is $50 really enough?
Maybe we're too materialistic at Shine, but many of our garments have sentimental value and cannot be re-purchased. Sure, we'd let someone give us $50 for a $20 top we just bought at a big chain store, but if we had to sell a great dress we've had for years or our favorite worn-in jeans it might take a couple hundred dollars.

Photo courtesy of Mara Lavitt/New Haven RegisterSt. Bernadette Catholic School will be updating the girls uniforms next fall. After many female students have been rolling up their plaid skirts to make them shorter, the school has decided to ban their current skirts and jumpers and replace them with khaki pants. Parents are upset that they'll have to shell out more money for new uniforms, but they're also angry that their daughters will look less feminine.
According to the New Haven Register, principal Sherry Steines recently wrote a letter to parents claiming the new dress code is the result of "many conversations and input from the school survey." Apparently some parents never took any such survey or were consulted about the dress code. As a result about 20 parents signed a petition to meet with the the principal about the changes, but they were ultimately turned away.
"They said the jumper is going to last a couple of years and then, boom, it's gone," parent Brenda Abel told the Register. She said tuition is costly enough andFashion that Makes Us Sad: $2,900 D&G Bag that Looks like Roseanne’s Couch

Yes, this $2,895 purse looks like it's been draped in a '70s afghan. Retailer Neiman Marcus claims it will "provide a homespun comfort as it adorns both dressy and casual ensembles." We think it really should never have been made. And we have absolutely no idea how it could possibly cost three grand.Who knew Roseanne's couch was so stylish! Registering for New York Fashion Week costs $80 and you must be approved for credentials. Then you need to email the individual designer and request a seat, so if you're not a fashion editor, well-known blogger, retail buyer, or wife of some big important CEO you can pretty much forget about it. Unless you're an American Express cardholder.
For several years American Express has offered up seats to those with an Am Ex card-for a fee. But this season they've partnered with Tommy Hilfiger for one sweet deal.
