    • Election Night Style: Michelle Obama Vs. Ann Romney

Late Tuesday night President Barack Obama was re-elected to a second term in the White House, beating out former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney by securing the swing state of Ohio. Both men had their beautiful wives on hand for support, and -- forgive us for being a little shallow -- we were dying to see what each woman was wearing.

In four quick years, First Lady Michelle Obama has become one of the most influential women in fashion, catapulting small name designers like Rachel Roy, Jason Wu, Thakoon, and Prabal Gurung to fame, and putting mall brands like J.Crew and the Gap back on the map. President Barack Obama took the stage with his family and was greeted by thunderous applause from his supporters as he signed on for four more years as commander-in-chief.

The first lady always keeps us guessing when it comes to clothes, but one quick glimpse at her outfit and we knew exactly what she was wearing: A red brocade Michael Kors shift dress she's worn publically at least twice

    • Current Obsession: Uniqlo's Heattech Collection

We have these tops in several colors. Photo courtesy of UniqloStaying warm without loads of bulky layers is the name of the game all winter, and our easy, affordable go-to is the Heattech collection from Uniqlo. Haven't heard of Uniqlo? They're a budget-friendly, stylish-but-practical Japanese retailer we've been enjoying here in New York City since 2006, but they've just launched their national e-commerce this week. With their perpetual lines in-store, even we are psyched about shopping online.

We're not going to pretend to understand the highly-scientific technology behind Uniqlo's Heattech layering pieces, but we can attest that for the past few years they've made cold weather dressing way more tolerable. Think long underwear warmth in clothing styles you'd actually want to show off. Also: every item in the collection comes in an array of great colors, is true-to-size (crucial for online ordering), and costs under $20. The scoopneck long sleeve t-shirt ($14.90) is awesome under sweaters, cozy vests, or sleeveless dresses. The on-trend

    • Jem Gets a Makeover... And It’s Not Bad!

Young girls have always loved Barbie, but in 1985 there was a new, cool, plastic lady in town: Jem. The fictional lead singer of Jem and the Holograms was created by Hasbro and had her own cartoon series. "Jem" aired from 1985 to 1988 and featured animated music videos, new wave fashion, and positive messages for little ladies. There's currently a major Jem resurgence, thanks to daily reruns on The Hub, and the character has becoming an increasingly popular Halloween costume. But old school fans want more! Hasbro has partnered with Integrity Toys on a new set of collectable dolls, in stores come November. Unlike other recent cartoon makeovers like My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Smurfs, and Minnie Mouse, we feel the new Jem dolls look great, and very true to their original aesthetic. Unfortunately they'll cost $125 each, so sorry kids! These dolls are for collectors and die hard fans only. Take look at the Jem dolls, old and new, and let us know what you think of their updated

    • Blowout Addiction: How to Save Money and Do it at Home

At-home blowouts are easy to do and save money. Photo by CorbisBad hair days can make us depressed, so it may come as no surprise that some women are addicted to blowouts. In New York City, ladies spend thousands of dollars a year for sleek, shiny hair and perfectly tamed curls. 23-year-old Gabby Fraenkel told the New York Post, "I've been getting three to four blowouts a week for as long as I can remember." Fraenkel's biweekly salon blowouts are $40 a pop, and she pays $65 for house calls. Annually, that adds up to around $7,500, or 15 percent of her $50,000 salary. "[It's] something I do for 'me' to feel good inside and out," she told the Post.

Kate Middleton spends $12,000 a year on blowouts

Lauren Pressman, 32, prefers the $20 blowouts at Yani Hair Salon on Manhattan's Upper East Side. "I can't remember the last time I washed my hair," Pressman told the Post. "I've been here every week twice a week for five years." Though her salon visits over the past 5 years have cost her $10,000, she thinks they're worth it. "It's definitely an addiction:
