My brother Luke Colenzo who lives in Upstate NY told me about cake Vodka on my recent trip.
He recommended me to try mixing it with Amaretto to make an almond paste cookie flavor, I adapted that below, also some delightful combination of flavors. Now that I was introduced to Cake Vodka, I just imagined the endless possibilities, so I decided since Coconut Cream Cake and Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie are my favorite desserts, I would come up with a new drink to love for the summer months (or anytime of the year for me! ) Cheers, hope you love it! |

Heat grill on high. Microwave and cool potatoes. Remove skins, then slice potato in half then in cubes. Thread on skewers. Place on hot grill and continue to cook around 10 minutes until cooked and grill lines form.

Do you like peanut brittle? Well your in for a real treat then! I was stunned how easy this brittle was to make. I have now tried with cashews, macadamia nuts, and pecans, so far the almonds our my favorite next to pecans, so here's the recipe that made me crave more. My husband ate this whole batch and has asked me to make it again, he is not a big sweet eater but this one that is so addicting.

As promised, Part 2, here is our great experience we had the very next day at Vescio's Franklin Hotel in Rome NY ( they are on Facebook too). When you walk in the door, your surely in heaven with the many rows of pastry in the see through glass cases. A real family atmosphere who runs the business.

| This photo is what they have on their menu a version of Greens. My niece ordered them and laughed when she tasted them, she said I should have made them instead, mine are much better! These were a little gritty and not as tender as we would like. |

| Here is a dessert we fell in love with on our vacation. I couldn't wait to get home to duplicate it since we didn't have but a mere taste. You will have to read to the end for the recipe. We just love the flavors of this one. Of course you can save it and wait till fall when pumpkin is popular. I just found a reason for pumpkin to be popular all year long with this one! |
