An idea my son had while he was visiting. His thoughts were since I love watermelon to make a refreshing drink and since I was ailing with a backache the alcohol sounded to good to pass up. He went out bought all the ingredients and we made this one together. Chad has a great idea, this was so refreshing it was hard to stop at one! Of course my backache felt a little better after the drink too! (smile)

Place water and sugar in a small saucepan and boil together until sugar dissolves. In the mean time place the melon, berries and limoncello in a blender and puree until fine. Put through a mess strainer into a small pitcher. Add the simple syrup. Place in the refrigerator for around an hour. Before serving add lots of ice, a shot of rum to the top of the drink. Place a fruit kabob on top, garnish with mint and enjoy!

Top this drink off with a shot of Rum if you like!

Here's one of those recipes you may say to yourself, why didn't I think of this before? Leftover chicken, leftover mashed potatoes, a match made in heaven. Add some hot sauce, spices and roll into bread crumbs, drizzle some olive oil over the top bake until browned, can't get much easier. Baked in the oven until browned with a drizzle of olive oil on top, seriously one of the best appetizers I have ever had!

Juicy bursting with flavor from fresh herbs from the garden, this is always a delicious way to roast chicken.

 

I just love fresh herbs and this year I planted everything we love. What a great crop so far. Fresh rosemary, Italian basil, parsley, mint, dill and oregano. We also planted a fig, lemon, key lime tree. Then we have a crop of tomatoes, corn, peppers and cucumbers. Every summer my dad use to have a huge garden, the fresh tomatoes were like eating candy so sweet! I just love making everything with the freshest ingredients when ever possible, even the chicken is organic! I freeze all the herbs in ice cube trays and just drop them into stews in the winter months. You can also wash and freeze them in freezer bags for your favorite sauces and a fresher taste well after the summer is over.



I usually add water in the bottom of the pan to keep the bird juicier while cooking.

Such a fun dessert to make and serve... everyone will love how refreshing and easy this is to assemble. You will want to make it again and again for all your party and picnic outings! I love food art! This is such a pretty idea and treat for any party. It's so easy, I have to wonder why I never tried this before. I had seen it in many photo's through the years made all different ways. It took me maybe 15 minutes to assemble.  Make sure you have a dome shaped bottom glass or ceramic bowl that will freeze well. You don't want a flat one as the dome looks much prettier unmolded. I always make two out of this recipe, so I take one wherever we go and leave on home!
